It's JULY!!!! - chat
OK, so it's not quite July tonight, but it may as well be.
I think I saw the Nutramigen, at W-M and it was a bitty can, 26$. When our other kiddos were on formula we used soy and I still got it pretty cheap because with Jailee I found the Target brand of soy on clearance. We went through a lot of it too, but at 11$ a can it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Re: It's JULY!!!! - chat
wow!
I tryed catching up, but no such luck!!
we went out to my moms cabin for the weekend, just got back this afternoon.
it was SOOOOOOO hot. gah. disgusting, me & heat don't mix, it gives me an instant headache.
and they are saying its going to be a hot summer
we went out in search of an AC unit for our upstairs, since its SOOOO hot up there, and I came home with a window unit since Adam was complaining about the price of the portable ones.. and it doesn't fit and totally won't work in a window up there, so now we are on just fans up there, and its DISGUSTING!!

WB Holly. How hot is hot for you all?
We've had pretty normal temps here so far. It's the humidity that kills me more than the heat. I just wilt. Of course at 95 or so, it doesn't matter how humid it is...it just stinks.

Re: It's JULY!!!! - chat
Hot here is above 97 or so. But our heat is dry, way easier to handle than humid heat. Anything above 105 feels the same. Yesterday and today we were around 105. With a bit more humidity than normal too, it's going to be a thunderstorm tonight!
I hope you can find a better window unit Holly. Being PG and hot is miserable. I was that way 5 yrs ago! Kaden was born on the 6th of July, and boy was I a swollen pg lady!

Holly, I can sympathsize with you on the heat. Our heat is terribly, terribly HUMID! AGH! I know I was wondering what I was thinking when I was pregnant with Gavin in those hot months of July and August. It was so must easier being pregnant in the winter with Brenda.

This is what I used with Ava because all the low gas formulas were still too tough on her. I ended up buying it online at Ebay from people that had bought cases and had left overs (unopened of course) when their kiddos switched to milk or a different formula. You can get some good deals there. I was just careful to check for exp dates and people's feedback. Sometimes the best deals would come from buying bulk listings, where they were selling 2-3+ cans at a time. The avg price would end up being no more than $20 per can and they were normal size cans like the other formula in stores. You can also find people that sell the sample sizes on Ebay (that they have rec'd in the mail or from their docs offices) pretty cheap - like $10 a can and they are about 1/2 the size of the regular can.

Re: It's JULY!!!! - chat
HI everyone. Not too hot here. Its been ok. About 85 or so today. I think its supposed to get real hot later this week. Ughhh tomorrow is California' s"hands-free" law...I guess its for the better, but I think it will cause more chaos while using the phone in the car, who knows. Any of you have hands free laws where you live??
DH and I had dinner at P F Changs tonight, one of his favorite restaurants. Austin has been very cranky lately. He is obsessed with legos and I have a few bins I have bought him now from Target and Toys R Us, I want to get this cool lego table but its 130 at Toys R Us and 100 at Wal Mart, might check out ebay for deals. He also loves the water. I bought this watering table thing at KMart by STEP2, he loves it!!! Its a big hit!
Holly-sorry about the heat, hope you can get a new unit or something that fits to keep you guys cool.

Re: It's JULY!!!! - chat
Dawnmarie - Tomas' stump was like that too. Kind of like it wasn't healed yet when it fell off. I got brown and red goo out of his belly button for at least 2 more weeks.
Shannon - Hope the breastfeeding starts feeling better. That first month is killer. I had bf'ing amnesia, so it was as much of a shock with Tomas as it was with Rhianna. Good to hear P is a great baby and Ava is loving her little sister .
Rachel - So sorry to hear about the BM. I cried too when we lost all of my freezer stash due to the move. It's still sore for me to think about it.
I looked at formula prices yesterday. We might start Tomas on formula sooner than I thought due to him going to daycare and me no longer having a freezer stash. I'm just not as good about pumping these days as I was. We'll see what happens. But I sure don't look forward to buying formula...yikes!
