Re: ANGER & SADNESS!
While those people who would not leave because they were stubborn put themselves into harms way the ones who could not afford to leave had no chance...
I cried in the parking lot of WalMart today because the Salvation Army here in Montgomery have been housing Katrina Victims as well as a few churches. Well in the parking lot of walmart were no refugess... THey were trying to make some money for the salvation army i believe as there was a guy out there ringing the bell standing near them with the collection pot. There was a quartet, consisting of a soprano sax, a trumpet, a trombone, and a clarinet. They were playing that NO sound of christmas carols and blues... I cried because I put twenty in the pot for salvation ARMY and I put 10 in each of their cases, I coul tell the only things they probably owned were those instruments their clothes looked like that of a bu etc... I cried because these guys took the money out of their case and told me thank you ( I am almost positive they were from NO they had the cajun lilt in their voices), they picked up the money and put it in the salvation army bucket. It has been along time since I have seen Christmas Spirit like that, I was so shocked, that someone with so little, thought that someone out there needed it more than him. The salvation army guy told him to keep it for himself, and he told him no... The spirit of some of these refugees is amazing and I am in awe of some of them, considering all that they have ben through
