Default Updates Anyone?

How is everyone?

I'm doing well- really busy with my daycare. I forgot to renew the mini pill- so I am off the pill early. We are thinking of ttcing again in January. If we don't get pg by Dec 2007 we quit for good- since I will be 37 1/2 by then. I am perfectly content with my 2 boys. We are thinking of a third cause we love it! I am fully expecting a boy- not trying for a girl. Of course a girl is cool too.

Let me know what you are doing.

Hi Sheryl,

That's exciting about you TTC #3 soon!

Not much is new with me. Jeremiah is growing up fast. He is now two and a half. He is finally catching up in his development (he was six weeks premature). He loves to laugh and likes to make others around him laugh. I am really enjoying this age.

We recently moved Jeremiah to a toddler bed. Naptime and bedtime was very challenging for the first couple weeks, but it is getting better. :-)

That is an awesome picture of Jeremiah!

Aidan is still in the crib....he will be 3 next month. He likes it and doesn't climb out...so we kept him in there. I am thinking for Christmas I should do the toddler bed thing. We will see.

Thanks for the update! This board is sooooo quiet. I get lonely over here.

Did you have to purchase another crib for Nathan? I think that it is good that you didn't rush Aidan out of the crib. I have heard of many people transitioning their toddler into a bed before they were ready because of the arrival of another baby. A sleep expert on parents.com (Jody Mindell) recommends that children stay in a crib until they around 3. I wish we would have waited a bit longer to put him in a toddler bed.

We bought Nathan his own crib. Aidan stayed in his "nursery" and Nathan got the small bedroom next to him. People were surprised we didn't move Nathan into Aidan's room etc- but Aidan loves his room, loves his bed and would probably resent Nathan for taking it. Both boys have convertable cribs- so they will have the beds for a long time. Aidan has the largest bedroom too- benefit of being the first born. IF we have a 3rd child then we will take Aidan's crib- he'd be close to 4 (at the earliest) and in a big boy bed.

We also wait on other things- he isn't potty trained yet- slowly working on it and has used it a lot- but doesn't use it consistantly yet. We aren't rushing him. He used a bottle until 18 months- many get rid of it at 12 months. I let him dictate when to move on to other things. I am not in a hurry.

Nathan on the other hand is rearing to go. Hasn't used a bottle yet (bfing) and will probably move to a sippy quicker. He crawls and is trying to pull up at 8 months. Aidan didn't even sit on his own until 9 months- crawled at 12 months and walked at 15- so he has been a late bloomer all along.

I'm not rushing the potty training either. I tried potty training shortly after Jeremiah turned 2, and he was not even close to being ready. In the last two days he has shown some interest. At bathtime last night, he sat on the potty chair for awhile and said that he was going to go potty. Today after a diaper change, I asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty chair. He said "yes" and actually went potty in it. I've heard that a lot of boys aren't fully potty trained until they are 4.
