Default Upcoming Myomectomy Questions

New here! A little background: ttc - 7 years, 3 rounds of iui w/ clomid. Quit ttc and got pg - Found out I had fibroids when I was 10 weeks pg. Had 4 months bedrest and had c-section May 06 and delivered healthy baby girl - perfect in every way.
So here are my questions:
I'm having an abdominal myomectomy March 7 to remove at least 5 known fibroids. Besides the c-section, I've never had major surgery. Is the recovery similar to c-section recovery? What is it like "going under" and "waking up" from general anesthesia? Did you have to give blood before hand "just in case"?
Thanks!

Default Re: Upcoming Myomectomy Questions

Hi! Congrats on your daughter!
I think the recovery is similar to the c-section. You have pain in the same areas. Are they going to go through your c-section scar? I think the recovery from the c-section is quicker and easier though. The myomectomy will take longer for you to feel 100%, you have to be careful and rest even though you have a baby to care for. Get lots of help and stay off your feet.

Good luck on please come back and tell us how you are.

btw- I had 5 removed too.
