HI!

I had my big U/S yesterday. All is well. The baby looks perfect and we found out he is a BOY! So Aidan gets a baby brother.

They did measure the fibroids they could see- all the same size- nothing has grown. There is one fibroid high up and close to my skin. The doctor was concerned that if I hit it hard- like banged my tummy into a counter(which I do at times) or if Aidan accidentally kicks me (which he has at times) it could either burst or deteriorate (something like that don't remember exactly) and cause pre-term labor. They want me to be very careful and come back for another u/s at 30 weeks. I usually wouldn't worry- but an active 22 month old could kick it (he kicks if I pick him up when he wants to continue playing). I am sure everything will be fine..I guess it was good to know.

Hey, please be extra special careful, b/c I bet that dr's talking about a disintegrating fibroid. I had one of my fibroids do that before the small surgery in April '04. It was the worst thing I've been through (closely followed by the recovery period from the recent open myo)- I actually threw up from the pain. For some reason I was incredibly lucky that it didn't start disintegrating until the day before the surgery, so I just took alot of Vicodin. Please be careful kiddo!
