TTC w/Fibroids

Hello:

Newbie from Chicago, trying to get a bun in the oven. I have 5 fibroids, all sized from 6x7 to 3x3, In different locations all outside of the uterus. The largest on top fundal area. Just had one removed that was a golf ball size, from my cervix. Doc recommends having a baby before myo. He's worried about how my uterus will be after surgery (he also thinks there may be more than 5 there he can't see).

So, Im here, worrying about conceiving or lack of, being able to hold a pregnancy knowing that the fibroids will be fighting for everything the baby will be i.e. space, blood cells etc, and having a healthy baby. Oh and the parranoia of wondering will I know what the hell Im doing being a mom!

Any support/suggestions/stories would be appreciated.

Default Re: TTC w/Fibroids

I also had 5 large fibroids on the outside of my uterus. My OB told me to get them removed via Myomectomy if I wanted to get pg. I had the surgery in 2000 and had a hysteroscopy in 2002 (to remove one on the inside) and finally got pg 6 months after that surgery. If I did not have the surgeries, I do not think I would have gotten pg and kept a pg.

I reccommend getting a second opinion. You don't want to waste years of ttcing only to find out you should have had the surgery. GOOD LUCK! Let me know what happens.
