Well, I'm technically not a lurker, since I've posted here fairly recently, but I want to say hi and that I still check this board. I know there are more of us out there (something like 35-40% of all women have fibroids by age 35), so I'm hoping you gals "de-lurk."

Thank you for checking in! I know there are many out there...I just hope we can build up a little community. When I hosted this board in the past we had a hadnful of regulars. Many have gone there own ways. Some had babies, some are still ttcing, and a few gave up

Don't be a stranger. You know I am always here!

Anything new? I am officially ttcing again. I am on cd 8 and will start the bding soon. DH is happy!

Hi everyone,

I used to post on this board. My user name at the time was Suzanne28. I had two fibroids that were moderate size before my pregnancy. The doctors did not recommend removing prior to getting pregnant. They both grew significantly and caused a great deal of pain during my second trimester. The largest one was 10 cm after my pregnancy. They were on the outside of my uterus, but were pressing in. I looked like I was pregnant with twins. My son, Jeremiah, was born six weeks premature. My doctor said that he came early because he ran out of room. My son was born on April 11, 2004 and I had surgery to remove my fibroids on September 13.

I am now a stay-at-home mom. Prior to staying at home with my son, I taught third grade at a Christian school.

Hi Suzanne!

I was wondering about you! Congrats on your baby! I am so sorry he came early due to the Fibroids. I take it he is doing well. Please don't be a stranger. I think many of the ttcing women who find out they have fibroids need to know you can get pregnant and that fibroids are not the end of the world.

GREAT TO SEE YOU!

Hi Sheryl,

Jeremiah is doing well. He's 9 months old and just starting to sit up without support. He is still a bit behind in his large motor skills, but I'm sure he'll catch up soon.

Aidan is such a cutie! Best wishes to you as you TTC #2.

Suzanne

Suzanne,

Aidan was behind too! He didn't sit unsupported until 9 months. He didn't start crawling until 12 months. Not pulling up fully or walking yet. He is supposed to see a physical therapist soon. He has fine muscle tone apparentally that affects his large motor skills. I'm not worried. That fine muscle tone runs in the family and he will catch up eventually.

Thanks for the compliments! We think he is a cutie too!

Hi Suzanne-

Thanks for sharing your details; I too heard from 2 obgyns that if fibroids are a problem, they're usually a problem re: c-section and/or earlier delivery. It's good to know you were able to get pg even with a 10 cm. What size were they before you were pg? I have a 5 cm one on the top of my uterus, just outside the wall. My docs said about 50% of the time fibroids can stay the same size or even shrink during pg; with my luck, mine will be the type that grows

Thanks again-
Teri
