Doctor called today. Results from biopsy were inconclusive. CT showed "multiple soft tissue masses" all over the right lower quadrant of my abdomen. So now he wants to have a surgery & try to remove all he can & have that biopsied since "sarcoma has been brought up as a possibility" I'm like what do you mean brought up - by who? Me? others? he was all elusive about that just kept repeating himself. Here's the kicker. I just started a new job yeserday where i help mentally retarded women in their morning routines, getting showered, dressed, etc. Requires quite a bit of heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, etc. etc. If I have this surgery, i will be out minimum 1-2 weeks, but depending on what he has to do in there, it could be more like 6 weeks. (last time I had these fibroids removed it was hoped for 2 weeks & ended up being 6...and this time its much more extensive) I wont be able to do my job & since i just started, they could certainly fire me b/c I'm not eligible for family/medical leave act yet & anyway i wont get paid & we are so incredibly desparate for the money we are on the brink of disaster. So on the one hand i'm, scared to death about my health & the other i'm worried about losing the roof over our heads. I am a complete mess, crying all the time, so overwhelmed w/ the magnitude of all this... PLease pray for us

Oh I am so sorry to hear you are faced with such a dilemma. Maybe you can talk to your doctor and explain the job situation and see what he thinks about any risk of postponing the surgery until you have a little more time on your new job. Time may not be a factor.

I will definitely keep you in my prayers. Things will work out.

I agree with MrsWilly- find out if it can be postponed until you are secure in your job for the FMLA. I know you are worried about cancer and you probably won't be able to wait too much longer. I will keep you in my prayers. I hope things work out for you. Please continue to keep us updated.

i everyone i am schedule to have my myommectomy on May 14, i am trying my best not to be scared, but i cannot help, see this will be the second one i will be having, my first one the doc left one behind, it was 2 close to my tubes, now i am being affected by that, it feels so huge inside of me, the doc told me my uterus is the size of a 4 month pregnancy, now that is huge. i am feeling so much pressure in my pelvic area, the doc prescribed tylenol #3 for the pain till i have my surgery. So guys i am reaching out for prayers and all the support i can get. Talk soon.

Chartiv- i understand what you are feeling about your job, i have the same problem but my health comes first. i learned over the years that people are so easily replaced.
