Default i'm back with questions

i haven't been around lately. i probably haven't posted since april. i have a question about hpt and i hope that someone can help me. af should have showed up on saturday(18th) but she's still not here. anyway, i tested on wed of last week(15th) and got a bfn. then i thought i tested too soon. today is the(20th) and still no af. i just tested again, bfn but i didn't let the test lay flat for 5 - 8 minutes. dh and i looked at the test again before i threw it away and i swear we both saw a very faint line. i should wait and test first thing tomorrow morning or wait and test in a few more days? what test do recommend?

Hi!

It is probably best to test with FMU (First morning urine). You can try again tomorrow morning. If it is bfn and AF is still late, then maybe wait a few days and try again.

I don't have much advice on what type of test to use. I guess I'd get a clear blue easy or one of the early detection tests.

Are you on Progesterone?

GOOD LUCK! I hope this is a bfp!

I agree test with FMU (1st morning urine). I have always used either ept or wlamart brand. i have had no problems with either one. a friend of mine swears by the dollar store test, that's all she uses. I would test in the morning lay it flat for 3-5 minutes and then read it don't read after 10 minutes you will possibly get 2 lines which are considered evaporating lines (not a positive test). Godd luck, if you don't get a bfp and haven't had af in a few days you might consider going to your dr to get a blood test. Hope you get a bfp!

thanks ladies. but before i could test this morning, af showed. i don't understand this. i am very regular, af shows up every 29 days, always. but this month she was a few days late. i really hope that i don't start having irregular cycles. also, do any of you chart? i've never been into the charting thing but i kinda starting to think about it.

Some ladies take Progesterone (usually ones on fertility drugs and ones being monitored by REs). Progesterone can be administered vaginally during the 2WW. The reason I asked was when I was on Progesterone my LP was 20 days instead of the typical 14- so I always thought I was pg.

Also- Charting. I used to chart. I read TCOYF (Taking Charge of Your Fertility) hundreds of times. I charted religiously...but realized the stress of charting wasn't helping me. I would stress if the temp went down when I really hoped it would go up. I would have to wrorry about making sure I temped the same time every morning prior to sitting up or moving- because you need the Resting Body temp to get your correct temp for O. I found when I finally quit temping that the stress was lifted and I got pg shortly afterwards.

Some women rely on what charts tell them about their bodies. I learned that I do O around cd 14-16...so that helped. But I had "pg" charts all the time and then would go into hysterics when AF came. It was too stressful and really took the fun out of bding.

sorry to hear that af showed up. I don't chart either. I found with me the more i stress, i don't get prego the less i stress bang i get prego. But then again depo does all kinds of things to your body. I use to be regular but know, forget it. March it the 22 april didn't get one may got it the 5th june got it the 9th. so i'm still not regular and my ldi(last depo injection) was oct 04 Aftermy 2nd was born. Good luck with your ttc journey. Hope it's a short one.
