Default Hi! New here.

I recently had a laparoscopy and my RE discovered a large fibroid on the outside of my uterus. He says it is not embedded in the muscle and should not be difficult to remove. He also said that it is putting pressure on my uterus causing it to tilt.

His recommendation is that I try three rounds of iui/clomid. If that does not work he will discuss removing the fibroid.

Any advice?

Hi!

Welcome to the board. I am sorry about your fibroid. I'm not a doctor- so I would probably trust their advice. But based on my personal experience I would remove the fibroid prior to any iui's or medication. If the fibroid is causing trouble it may prevent conception - even assisted conception. I'd rather use the clomid and IUIs after I was sure nothing else stood in our way.

I did do 3 IUIs and took Clomid for 4 months without luck. But I know so many that have been successful that way. So I hope you succeed quickly!!! I conceived my first son naturally, 6 months after the last fibroid surgery. Son #2 was also natural. I still have a few small fibroids, but they are so tiny they aren't hurting anything.

GOOD LUCK!! and please keep us updated~

Thanks for the info!

I am leaning towards getting the fibroid removed before the iui's as well. But, I also trust my RE and don't want to disregard his advice.

I am going to have to think about this awhile, I think.
