Default fibroids

Hi,
In mid June I had a stillbirth, my baby boy was 20 weeks, I have been bleeding for 9 weeks now and found out yesterday that I have fibroids. Im wondering if the fibroids could in any way be responsible for the stillbirth or even the ectopic I had last fall? I have heard they can be responsible for a normal spontaneous misscarriage and I have had two of those and a missed misscarraige. Any info would be great.

Naener,

First let me say that I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you've been going through.

It is possible that the fibroid tumor(s) could have caused the ectopic if the tumor is blocking (or partially blocking) where the egg would enter the uterus from the fallopian tube. I am not so sure about the stillbirth, though. Hopefully one of the other more informed members will chime in.

Is your doctor recommending any treatment, esp. since you're bleeding?

Hope that helps,
Paula

The Dr. hasn't given anything for the bleeding, Ive only seen the Radiologist so far, I will see my Dr. next week. But from what I understand any meds that will help the bleeding will also make it impossible to become pregnant as long as I take them? I don't know I could be wrong. Just very confused!
I would love to have another baby and dread the thought of more problems.

Hi,

I am so sorry for your loss.

Fibroids can cause a bunch of problems with bleeding and pain. They can also interfere with implantation etc. I do not know if they would cause the stillbirth- it depends on how big it is and where it is. I hope your doctor has answers for you soon.

I had tons of fibroids- had them removed and got pregnant and had my son last year. So all hope is not lost if you get treatment.

GOOD LUCK
