Hi, there!!!

Well, I'm not new to ttc, but recently I have been told that I have a fibroid at the top of my uterus. I have pain from it about 10 days a month, or maybe a bit more. Sometimes it hurts quite a bit. One of my doctors said it is not in a location that is a problem for ttc, but after 3+ yrs ttc, and one miscarriage, I am not so sure. Plus, it hurts. I can feel it when pressing in the general area of my uterus. I am wondering what I should do about it, if anything. Any advice? Thanks so much.

PS. Last year, I had an pelvic MRI done, and it showed two areas of 'focal' adenomyosis. Which is rare in women who have never had children. I am now wondering if they really saw fibroids. They can be mistaken for each other. I am so confused about what to do!

THANKS!

Hi and welcome!

I'd get it removed. I had 2 fibroid surgeries to remove them before I finally got pg after ttcing for 5 years. I was pg 6 months after the last surgery and know I'd never have my 2 boys without that.

Especially if you have pain. Pain is always an indicator of problems. I'd get a second opinion from an reporductive endochronologist- RE- Someone that specializes in fertility.

GOOD LUCK and let us know what you decide to do!!

Thank you for the response! I am going to call my RE and have an appt. set up to talk about this. My period should start next week, so I guess I'll call then. Thanks for your story, also. Your boys are precious.

Hi

I just had a Myomectomy last week 6/20/06 to remove a 6cm fibroid. It was at the top of the uterus, fundus and deep in the muscle. I was protruding slightly into the cavity. I was first told it should not be a problem but after ttcing for 6 years to no avail I decided to have it removed. I'm still recovering and feel great that I've done it. I also found out I had a thyroid condition and at time of surgery, my thyroid levels were all in the normal ranges. So 2/2 corrected. There's nothing else I can do now but wait to heal and then start ttcing again.

Let me know if you have any questions.
