Well we are home. We got home yesterday and so far all is going really well. The c-section was rather painful- more so than last time but the recovery is quicker and I feel pretty good overall. I was able to get out of bed a do a lot quickly. I feel more human this time around.

Nathan is a breastfeeding CHAMP! He was rooting immediately and I nursed him within the first hour. He latched on immediately and has not had any breastfeeding issues at all. Which is so refreshing! Aidan had a hard time getting latched on and it was a good few weeks before things ran smoothly. Nathan is a pro. He eats every 1.5 to 2 hours. He made my milk come in quickly too. I am so pleased and relaxed about it. He did drop 10% of his weight and we had to supplement feedings with some formula and later on breast milk- he drank from a cup (just like his big brother did). He has gained weight and no longer needs to supplement any of his feedings.

Aidan LOVES “his baby”. He wants to hold him all the time and lovingly caresses him and kisses him. He has thrown a couple fits when he can’t hold him. So I’d say he has adjusted perfectly. We expected him to be upset but he isn’t. He doesn’t mind if I nurse Nathan- so far no jealously issues. To see Aidan kiss Nathan and talk about his baby is so darling. If Nathan squirms and lets out a cry Aidan pats him and says, “it is okay, baby”. So darling! He is always looking for the baby too. He walks right past him in the bassinet and says “where did baby go?”

Nathan is a perfectly content baby. He doesn’t cry unless very hungry. He sleeps a lot and eats well. Last night he slept for 5 hours straight. I used to say those babies don’t exist- but Nathan sleeps well and I have to admit I have gotten plenty of rest- Unlike with Aidan. We are very happy with our new addition.

Congratulations on the arrival of your sweet baby Nathan! What a darling! By the way, I hope you remember me. I had posted here last spring/summer when my RE suspected I had a fibroid, and you were so supportive before and after my surgery. I have continued to lurk here, waiting to hear about your little guy's arrival! I'm glad to hear Aidan has taken to the 'big brother' role so well!

Congratulations! I cant see the pics yet b/c my work blocks me access :-(. But will look at home tonite! Been checking to see how things went. Glad to hear Aidan is adjusting well & that Nathan is such a good baby! (from what I hear, 2nd one usually is - must sense that we are less clueless 2nd time around!)

We are on cycle 1 of TTC-ing (woohoo) & prob o'ed sometime this weekend so wish me PINK luck as I sit in the 2WW..

Just wanted to send some your way...I saw where you had posted over at the 30-something board and knew then you had Nathan...don't know if you remember much of me...I used to lurk a lot when you hosted the Clomid board years ago! Baby Nathan is adorable and I can't believe Aiden is that big already!

Sheryl...things are going fine...just waiting for AF then I start my Clomid/IUI protocol again. Hope things are going go with Nathan still! Keep us updated over on the 30-something board...we'd love to hear from you!
