Everything is good. Blood pressure down; i gained back the 5 pounds I lost and i am solidly in the second trimester. The only disappointment was that the doc was unable to get detect the heartbeat. He said not to worry and that it can't always be heard at this stage. So, I am trying not to get too worked up. But I might call them and ask for an ultrasound just to be sure. I have had no cramping/bleeding or spotting. So, it should be okay, right?

If the doc isn't concerned I wouldn't get worked up. But I would call and see if they can schedule another doppler sooner than your next appt. For your peace of mind. You can also rent a doppler and listen from home. I borrowed my neighbors doppler and used in the first 16 weeks to hear a heartbeat since the appts were few and far between.

That is a long time to wait. Get the doppler- you'll feel better.


ADVICE: It may take time to find the baby's heartbeat. So don't panic. Start low- by the pubic area. If the beats are slower- like 60-80 it is you. The baby should be over 120. Also- the heavier you are the harder it is to find. Jusy lay down and relax and move the doppler around and keep trying until you find it.
