Default Anyone out there?

Anyone here?

I just found out I have 7 new fibroids. Luckily they are tiny. So we are going to TTC #2 starting this month. Anyone else?

OMG, there is life on this board . Love your siggie, but I thought I was Queen of Fibroids. I had myomectomy 4/04, removed 3 fibroids inside uterine cavity (one was disintegrating and soooooo painful), left the big one which was just outside the uterine cavity. 2 out of 3 docs said let it be for now because it didn't protrude inside cavity and removal would be even bigger surgery. One obgyn said those suckers bleed like crazy Since I'm so old for TTC (just turned 43), time is of the essence.

My "big" one is measuring about 5 cm to 5.8 cm, depending on who's measuring. Isn't it funny how subjective the measurements can be? After removal of the inside fibroids, started IUIs at an RE group. Got pg in Oct. 04 from 2nd IUI, unfortunately m/c'ed in early Dec. Went to 2 obgyns prior to d & c; both said fibroid didn't cause, they still wouldn't recommend removal at this point.

The differing opinons drive me crazy. One doc at RE office said yank out, the others say no. Sigh.

THERE IS LIFE! YAY
First of all- LOVE your picture. Gorgeous.

I got ya beat- had 5 large fibroids (nerf football, oranges, tennis balls etc) removed in April 2000. All Outer wall but distorted my uterus. Then had another inside one removed Oct 2003 and finally got pg 6 months later. I now have 7 little ones that we are going to ignore (like 2 cm) and hoping get pg again.

They say the fibroids aren't the cause of M/Cs but I am not so sure about that. I hear it is very painful when they disinegrate. OUCH. Mine were "alive" the pain they caused was due to pressing against other organs. I have also heard they bleed like crazy- that is why they don't remove them when they perform c-sections. I am glad I had them removed. and I would remove the new ones if they were in the way of getting pg.

I check this board daily (used to be the host) so feel free to drop a line whenever. I am always here to chat.

Okay, okay, I admit defeat . But can I be "Princess" of Fibroids? As are all of us cursed with them, I too am developing new ones. Smaller ones, inside the cavity, 2, I think. The 2 were briefly mentioned at my 5.5 wk u/s, but since I was pg, I didn't give them hardly a second thought. That's changed!

I have my follow-up/re-establish appt. with the REs on 1/18. I'm sure it will be discussed. Hopefully they won't insist on another myomectomy before continuing IF treatment. But the biggie is somewhat distorting the very top of my uterine cavity. 3 out of 4 docs, one a different RE, said my fibroid was not the cause of the m/c. B/c of my age, they thought it was chromosomal. Esp. a loss in the 1st trimester- fibroids, they said, generally can cause early labor and/or a c-section. But who knows???

FYI, unless you've already asked, ask your doc if the location of your fibroids could affect implantation. When mine were removed in 4/04, my obgyn said one of them was in the exact location that would interfere with implantation. Said it acted almost as an IUD! Just a thought.

The pain from the disintegrating one was like nothing I've ever felt- I actually vomited from the pain and took Vicodin, which I never do. Fortunately, it decided to disintegrate just before my surgery- it must have known what was coming!

There are a couple of youngsters on the IUI board whom I'll tell about this board. I'm surprised this board isn't more active since there are so many of us, but I guess one can handle only a board or two at a time

I crown thee Princess of Fibroidland

I asked my OB if they interfered and she said no. She started to give me some medical jargon and I took her word for it.

We used to have some regulars on the board but many have moved on. I went on a maternity leave and didn't post much. If others come by I'd gladly stay around to chat. I've considered hosting it again....maybe I will.

Hello-

I'd like to thank all the little people that made this possible" Wow, Princess at last!

As I was reading your response, dh came up behind me, and said of Aidan, "Wow, he's a cutie pie."

I think I'd give up a body part or two to have a baby as cute.

I don't know if anyone else will ever post, but I'll spread the word.

Teri
