Default anyone come in here?

I didnt realize there was a baseball board here. I love baseball almost as much as my kids....lol So how do you feel about the whole steroid issue? Did you see yesterday that Rafael Palmeiro got caught using...he said, "Today I am telling the truth again that I did not do this intentionally or knowingly." So he has no idea how the steriod magically appeared in his body? I guess the steroid fairy came and injected him during the night....WHATEVER! Since I have a very impressionable 12 year old athlete....I dont want him to think steroids are acceptable...these professional athletes should be playing without any body altering substances...dont you think?

The one thing that burns me up about MLB more than anything is how much power the player's union has over the league. Baseball players make ridiculous amounts of money, strike at any attempt of an effective salary cap, and get a whopping 10-game suspension on their first positive test. For a pitcher that's really only 2 games!

Part of me finds it hard to believe that Palimeiro would blatantly lie to Congress like that knowing there was random testing going on, but the other (larger) part of me thinks that any normal human being wouldn't be stupid enough to take an unknown substance with the testing going on. You would think he would want to know the makeup of every little thing he puts in his body so something like this wouldn't happen!

Kinda "interesting" how Bonds is on again/off again regarding retirement. Hmmmm...

Don't even get me started on the whole Kenny Rogers issue...

Hey thanks for responding....can you tell your Astros to beat San Diego tonight? It will really help my poor pathetic Dodgers...hehe

You can really tell that a lot of players have stopped using steroids this season. Look at Sammy Sosa this year compaired to last....just his physical appearance is so different. Finley(angels)....hit 36 HR's last year....and he has hit 9HR and is batting .217....hmmm...can you explain that?

Anyhow...Im happy to see there is another baseball fan in here....was wondering if I was the only one?????

Well, looks like your Dodgers can help themselves against the 'Stros this weekend!

Now, you may be thinking your team is in trouble having to face our big 3 this weekend , but it's really quite doable. All your boys have to do is squeak out a couple of runs, and our offense (or lack thereof) when these three pitch will take care of the rest. (Last night was a fluke, us actually winning. See what I mean about the lack of run support, though???)

I hate West Coast road trips. I haven't gotten to watch any baseball all week, and tonight's game isn't on until 9 - guess I'll miss that one, too. (Although, with Roy O pitching, it should be a quick game - under 2 1/2 if he's "on") At least I can watch tomorrow's game.

Yes, the nursery and his wardrobe are almost nothing but baseball-related. I played softball through high school, and DH was a pitcher through a semester of college, so we figure he's destined to have at least some talent.

We have a DVR through the cable company, but I can barely keep up with the TV shows we record. Besides, I'm too anxious to find out the score, and once I know the score, the game's not as interesting to me; I'd probably never get around to watching them. Maybe I'll record more when I'm at home; give me something to watch in the middle of the night.

We're starting to get back up there in the Wild Card, but we have to play St. Louis this weekend. Then after that, it's Philly. You'd think Milwaukee would be a "break" before we have to play Florida, but we never do very well against the Brewers. I'm scared to think of where we'll be in the WC standings by next weekend.

I'll whip out my voodoo curse on the Padres for you - I'd like to see Jeff Kent back in the playoffs.

I played softball to...I was a pitcher. My best friend was on the past 3 olympic softball teams...so as you can imagine I was thrilled to have a girl. My kids have no choice but to play sports....im 6'2....my oldest's father is 6'8 & the twins dad is 6'5 both played D1 sports in college. Ill be going crazy once the twins start playing sports...ill have to change my name to psychobaseballmom!!!

Dodgers are still holding their own...but...my Angels have started to kick it into high gear. They just won 2 of 3 from the A's. They still arent hitting for SH!T, but their aggresive baserunning and pitching is winning games for them. Have I told you how much I love baseball season?????

When the twins were infants...I was shopping for clothes at Target. There was a mother complaining that all the infant boy clothes had sports stuff all over it....I was like...DUH...what else will a boy wear?

Steroids........... they are illegal now, and I think users should be penalized severly....... HOWEVER, they keep bringing up people who they say used in the past. Well, HELLO??? They weren't illegal back then! I don't think you can look down on players who weren't doing anything illegal (not that it was a good idea, but they didn't know that at the time). It was a different time period. The whole Palmeiro thing.......... that really hurt me. I thought of him as one of the good guys that wouldn't lie about it. I don't know what to think, I want to believe that he didn't do it "intentionally" but I am having a hard time believing that. Just my 2 cents.

On I side note, I didn't realize this board was even here, SO glad I found it!
