Default silly question

Hi all

I have a stupid question for you. We are in the process of doing injectables and or clomid and a HCG shot. We will be doing home insemation.

Here is the question- the hcg makes you ovulate but what makes your cervix open to allow the swimmer up there?

Thanks for the help

Meredyth

Default Re: silly question

Why in the world would you do home insemination?

Nothing makes your cervix open. You do not want an open cervix.

The nurse puts a speculum in your vagina and then feeds a catheter through your cervix and into your uterus a short way (it is marked on the catheter where to stop.........do not try this at home you could puncture your uterus). Then she pushes the plunger on the catheter and the semen goes in.

What you would be doing is an not an IUI (Inter Uterine Insemination) but instead an ICI ( Inter Cervical Insemination). YOu are going to put the semen in your vagina.

Again, why in the world would you not have the doctor perform an IUI. Your odds tripple with an IUI.

Good Luck.
