silly ticker you should say "weight gained" not "weight loss"
Michelle, I ordered my meds online from freedomdrug and I think there is something called IVFmeds. I never did bc before moving on to Injectibles. Are you doing an IUI also? If so I would hop over to the IUI Board since this board is very slow!! Good Luck!
Hi Michelle! I didn't find clomid to be the magic pill either. I am on my 2nd round of injectibles (first cycle: chemical pregnancy). My doctor has me ordering from schrafts.com as I can order Bravelle from there and they have a deal - buy 15 vials, get 5 free. That is because none of the injectible meds is covered by my insurance.
As for the bc pills, my doc didn't have me do that. I tried for 4 months on clomid and the very next cycle I started with the shots.
Good luck!

thank you for the info! but because of the chances of having multiples we are going to wait untill i finish school to give injectables a try. we could handle a singleton but twins or more would be to hard right now kwim?

I remember you from the Clomid board... I too may be about to embark on the injectibles rollercoaster.... Doing 200mg Clomid this cy, one follie, one big cyst/follie Ob not sure which... supposed to have o'd on day of scan according to OB but still waiting 3 days later...temp down today so tomorrow will be the clincher....
I wish you the best of luck... how much did you find out the inj meds cost compared to Clomid? I can't get any info over here in Aus, but I know what Clomid costs me so I can work it out based on that....thanks

I think you need a different RE. Clomid hardly works for anyone. Clomid works on your brain to convince your body to make more follie-growing hormones. Injectibles GIVE your body more follie-growing hormones. BCPs - he should have told you WHY he wants this. You are right at your age you have very good chance for multiples. You are very young, Dear. Maybe a different doctor might have a different idea for you. There are several good REs in Houston. (that's where the RE school is) For example at my RE's office they don't offer Clomid to ANYONE. Why - because it hardly works for anyone. Choose carefully, for example the Freedom Fertility clinic is offering free drugs to people who are on their third try (third IUI or third IVF) if you bought the first two rounds of drugs from them. THere are programs called shared risk. Where essentially you pay for two cycles and they pay for two cycles. At your age, there is an excellent chance you will be pregnant many times.
You have a wonderful chance ahead of you at your age. Bravo to you for getting help early. Now - learn all about your cycle and those drugs and what they are doing and be a part of your future!

I know so many people successful with clomid. Inexpensive compared to other meds so it is the first course of infertility treatment. There has been lots of success with a combo of clomid and injectibles - it keeps the price down too. Top clinics have been using this protocol- Cornell included. Good luck
