It is only CD11 and I feel like I have a watermelon for an abdomen! It feels like O pains going on, but I know it is too early.

I took clomid cd3-7 and 150iu of follistim cd 8-11 so far. The u/s today showed several follicles and the largest was 15.5. The want me to keep taking 150iu's & come back in 2 days. Is there a norm for how much they grow each day, or is each person different? Anyone ever O before they could get you the trigger shot?

I must say that I am shocked & amazed at how well I did w/ the injections given how I feel about needles. Now, if we can survive the trigger shot.....

Trace, The follies should grow 1-2mm a day. I had a cycle were I began to O before the trigger, luckily they caught ot and we did the IUi the next day. I conceived but mc due to Progesterone problems.

Trace, I totally understand how you feel! I feel that way everytime. Like Jen said, follies should grow 1-2 everyday. In me RE's office, they want follicles to be about 18-20 before the trigger. I have released my follies before the trigger shot (ovulation is not my problem, I do that on my own.) but with as closely as they are watching you they should be feeling confident that they won't miss it. Are you doing an IUI or at bd? Best of luck to you!

My doc makes me take Lupron (a shot) when I do my Follistim. It's suppose to prevent me from ovulating early. Maybe something to ask about if you do another cycle.

Thanks guys! It all sounds so crazy and intimidating doing this until you actually do it.

I had assumed we would IUI when I first discussed it with the RE, but when I asked she said we could do that if we wanted, but it wasn't something she thought was necessary. Now that we are into it, her staff is acting like it is weird if we don't. I am hoping to actually talk to my RE tomorrow as this has all started while she is on vacation (the nurse practitioner has been doing the u/s & calling the Dr. to get the "next step" so far.)

Hope everything is holding up well! I understand your feelings on doctor/vacation. Our doc has also done that recently. Just a little note on my experiance, dh and I go to a clinic/office up here that has another office in Indianapolis. Our doc is only here two days a week. So we deal with the nurses all the time and they call in the information to the doctor. The nurses may think that it's wierd, but they are my closest advocates. They cheer with me when we have a great appointment and actually comfort me and have cried with me when we've gotten the bad news. I love the care from my RE, but would not have made it through the last year without my nurses. They handle all of my silly and nervous questions. Add them to your friend list, but understand that your care is your care, different than all the other cases in the office because you are different and your path to a family may also work differently than every other patient in the office. I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

I agree with Michelle about the Nurses. They were so great and even called me at home when they weren't there for my IUI. I just stopped by my RE's office last week to show the Nurses and Receptionist the Baby. I din't even think to see the RE!

I went in Wed. for u/s and I already had ewcm so I think I was starting to O on my own. They gave me the trigger so I was very thankful I didn't have to do that puppy on my own! I was a little ticked at the RE though because I asked her how many follies she saw & she just rolled up her print outs of them and said she needed to count them. She left & I thought would come back, but when I came out I saw my chart sitting there to be dealt with later. I asked the staff if I was done & they said yes. Whatever......this may be the last time I see them since I am moving.

We decided with everything going on this week just to bd instead of IUI. Looking back, I don't see how we would have got in there during business hours to do it. We have an offer on our house & going thru inspection hell & DH is working some days during the week (3 hrs away) until we move. I am hopeful that it will work without the IUI & we are both comfortable that we won't be regretful for not doing it. We are at the point where we feel it will happen if it is supposed to.

Having said that, I see where the IUI might be a good idea as it is a little uncomfortable bding with everything down there feeling "swollen".

I guess it is on to the 2ww. (I realized RE failed to let me know not to POAS to early after the trigger-if I didn't have these boards I wouldn't have known)

Trace, Best of luck with your bd! Make sure that you are drinking lots of water/gatorade, it sounds like you have a ton of follies so you don't want to OHSS. I've got my fingers crossed for you!
