Heather, hope you got there OK and had a lot of fun. The weather was bad here, but at least there weren't any tornadoes down this way...just lots of rain. The good thing is that the yard is looking good and my plants are doing so well. We have blooms on the tomato plants!!

KC, laughing about the timeout thing...Amelia will do that, too! I was told that its a good sign that they understand the consequences of what they are doing, but don't really have any insight other than that...The girls are funny with the things they like to do. Anna LOVES to watch the Backyardagains. Amelia likes it, too, but she would rather run around the house while it plays. Anna also loves to color...she will do it for an hour straight, if given the chance. Amelia likes to eat the crayons, see what she can draw on, put them up her nose, etc. They have a two seater jeep and Amelia usually drives while Anna fiddles with the radio. Its quite entertaining. I think of Amelia as being more curious and Anna more thoughtful, although I hate to peg them too much so early.

Jennifer, I know you and DH had a good weekend! Don't you just love it when they make it home?! I hate when they are away, but its nice when they make it back.

Laura, congrats! I can't believe you had the time to even write up a proposal, but I am glad that you did...now you have the moola!!

Tomorrow I go shopping for something for Easter. I have decided that I can't wear my black pants with my black and white striped top to church for Easter...I need to at least find something in a Spring-time color!

Hello all!

Karen-We were in all sorts of awful weather. We drove there in rain almost the whole way, but it was never so bad we had to stop. Once we got there and luckily got unloaded, the heavens opened up and it rained and rained. We had husbands and kids calling the cell phones and telling us were were under tornado, flash flood, and severe thunderstorm warnings...but of course, we just kept scrapbooking! The Ranger at the Lodge came in and told us we were welcome to styya but that if it conitnued to flood, the road would be covered and there would be no way for medical assistance to get to us should we need it...we all stayed and just hoped there was not problem. Luckily there wasn't any. But, we had a blast and I got tons of stuff done and had a great time. We are already planning the next on in October!

Hello ladies....I read the other posts last night and now I cannot remember a thing! So, I hope you are all doing well!!!!

Hope its a great week! We are hading to San Antonio on Friday for one night to visit DHs grandmother who is flying in...she told DH that she was coming to Texas for 2 reasons...to see the bluebonnets and to see Landry...and since she is in her 90s, she doesn't know how much longer she has left! So, we are making a quick trip down and coming back Saturday afternoon.

Nothing like burning the candle at both ends!!!

Morning!!

Heather - Man, you were in the thick of the bad weather! I'm glad that you made it home safe and sound.

KC - That's too funny about Kian and timeout! Apparently, he just really doesn't like cleaning up!

Karen - Hope you found an Easter outfit! It's supposed to be kind of chilly this year.

How's everyone else?

Well, I got kind of frustrating news yesterday. My RE announced yesterday morning that he is going to be out of town most of the week that was supposed to be my ER so my cycle got delayed a week. It means that I hang out on Lupron for an extra week which they are not concerned about because I'm an overresponder so maybe in the long run it will be better. I was pretty bummed mainly because I was so excited about starting my stims this weekend. Oh well. The good news is that Kat and I will now be cycle buddies! We'll probably start stims on almost the exact same day!

Karen- I hope the weather is good enough on Sunday for you to wear your new Easter outfit! What did you end up getting? I was going to wear a cute springy dress, but it's supposed to be a high of 55! maybe I need to reconsider!

Heather- I'm glad you made it through the weather fine and didn't let it ruin your weekend. How cool that you will get the chance to see DH's grandma!

Jen- Doesn't your RE know you aren't paying him to go out of town? Do you have enough Lupron to tack on another week?

I'm headed to the obs soon. They are supposed to schedule my u/s after this appt. Hopefully it will be soon. Pelvic rest sucks!! I'm going to do my GD test tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Oh Jennifer---I know you are so bummed! I was too and I just had to delay 2 days but a week is a lot! I hope its a good omen for you and Kat and you both have your babies in 9 months! My doctor and embriologist always planned their vacation in July so that everyone knew and it wouldn't upset any schedules because they would know way in advance. I still think this will be a great IVF and end in a +++++!!!!!!

Busy here but I called my hari dresser and could get in TODAY...wow, that never happens...so I am off at 3 for a hairdo! I need it bad...I am a shaggy dog!

Thanks, Heather. Happy haircutting!

Interestingly, they told me not to fast but a couple of hours. They sent me home with the lovely drink, and I'm just supposed to make sure they pull my blood an hour later. Isn't that wierd? I think I'll fast anyway. I'm scared to death I won't pass because I have been eating a lot of junk! I was so good with Kian. I just can't seem to do it this time!

Heather, thank goodness you had a great weekend! I am glad that you got so much done (and jealous!).

KC, My doc told me not to worry about fasting before the test either but she wouldn't let me take home a bottle to drink because she said there's too much of a risk of traffic delays, etc. so to make sure she gets a good test, you have to wait around the office! I did lay off the sweets the day before the test and ate oatmeal for a snack that evening (I am not doing well on the healthy eating eating either). I thought the oatmeal would hold my hunger off and not cause a spike in blood sugar. Good luck!

Jen, on the bright side you will have a nice well rested doc when you do have your ER, so maybe that will increase your chances of a BFP! I hate the wait, but its all for some grand reason...

I ended up with a nice blue top to go with my black pants. I tried some "Springy" things on, but I am so large, I looked like a couch, so we are going with the "nice" top and no pattern! Good news is that I should be comfy if the weather is cooler.

I was told to fast. They let me take the drink home adn told me I could refrrigerate it, but I couldn't take it until I was there adn I had to drink it in front of them. I tried to eat low carb the night before....a lot of good it did me!!! The nice nurse called me and told me I failed it by just a little...and then she told me the numbers and it was like 15-20 points...a little more than "just a little." But then again, I failed the 3 hour one as well. I passed the first two and failed the third hour or something but it was borderline, that is how I was able to just control it with my diet. If I only ate that healthy now!!!!

Karen-I had a hard time finding Easter stuu too. My goal was to now wear black...and I almost failed because everything was black. I finally found a dress at Dilliards...its turquise and brown...but not black!

KC - I thought we were supposed to find out about your PP (yup, I said your PP) today. Any news?

H - Glad that the trip was so much fun. I can't really see myself getting into scrapbooking. I think it is really cute and all, but I'm not really that crafty.

Karen - I meant to comment before on how grown up the girls look in the pic you posted. Have you guys come up with a name yet?

Jen - Hmmm. If my body cooperates we might be cycle buddies. Let's see if it behaves (me, not you).

Well, the drama that is my life continues (or actually this part is over). I alluded to awhile back that J and I have a lot going on. His law firm decided to call it quits in early January (apparently this is pretty common lately with all of the torte reform. I act like I know what I'm talking about, but I'm repeating what Jason has said. ). So in addition to adoption stress and IVF stress, we also had major bread-winner stress. He has been working on closing things down at his firm and looking for another job since then. He accepted a position at a firm in The Woodlands last Monday and will start with them next week. Hopefully this will work out and he will continue to like them (and so will his client). If it all goes as planned he may actually be making more money. Which is never a bad thing. Esp when our attempts to get a child will be in the 10s of thousands this year.
But, another exciting thing about the job is that if he does like the firm we will be moving. I grew up in Spring which is about 10ish minutes from The Woodlands. So, we will move to Spring to be nearer to Jason's work and nearer to my family. It will end up being a win-win.
Oh, and they have a foosball table. That is all that I know about them other than being across from the mall.

Kat-I always hear really nice things about The Woodlands...especially when it comes to shopping. I hope it works out! That has to be stressful. The good news about the 10s of thousands of dollars is the tax break...gotta look for a silver lining somewhere right? Both adoption and medical expenses that exceed (I think its 6%) a percentage of your income. When we did IVF, our ended up being 10% of our income... but at least we got a tax break, I guess!

I like to do crfty things, so to me scrapbooking is fun. But, I also like to do family history, so its also a way to preserve our history as well...its a two fold thing. My little sister is a pro. She makes the most beautiful scrapbooks...mine are nice, but hers are awesome.

Happy Wednesday all! I think its supposed to rain here today. Landry will start at the new nanny's on May 1st. I am going to take 2 half days off to transition him by only having him there for half a day. Its already worrying me...I hope he likes the new place!

Parent's Weekend is next weekend....so my advice is for the locals to leave town and anyone else to stay away...its always a madhouse and forget about eating at any restaurants!!!!!

Happy day!

Kat - Oh man! I'm sure that was so stressful but I'm so glad that Jason has found a new job! I hope he loves his new firm! I love the Woodlands! We always say that if we ever move to Houston, we would probably end up there - it's a lot like Frisco with all the shopping and great restaurants right there. Spring is super close of course and would be just as nice. Would you change schools? I can't remember what district you are in. Or do you plan to continue teaching WHEN you get pregnant or adopt? Oh, and I'm positive that your body will cooperate - it's your turn for something good to happen!

Heather - I hope L likes his new place too!

KC - Keep us updated on your appts!

Nothing new with me, just getting things ready for my family to come into town for Easter!

My appt was fine. I only saw the doc for about 5 minutes. He seemed exhausted. Everything was fine. My BP was up a bit from what it normally is which put it at normal, and I'm meauring a week behind. Anyway, they scheduled my u/s fo rthe 17th, so we'll know something in 2 weeks! I took the glucose test this morning. My drink was fruit punch. YACK! I 'm supposed to have those results on Friday.

Kat- Man, What a rollercoaster you are on! Congrats on the new job! Sounds awesome. I hope you and Jen do get to be cycle buddies!

Heather- Switching nannies is always stressful. I think more so for us then our little guys. I hope it goes smoothly.

Karen- I laid off the sweets last night, too. I had almonds for a snack. I'm not brave enough to try oatmeal again. All I had this morning was a glass of water, and that was way early. I'm glad you found something. I'm sure you look very cute and not like a couch at all.

I'm with Jen, not much going on. Just trying to get the house in decent enough shape for the weekend and mom and dad!

Kat- Congrats on Jason's job offer. I know that's a real relief. And, hey, if you ever want/need a shopping buddy for the Woodlands Mall, just let me know. I can help ya out. LOL I'm soooo looking forward to your cycle! Keep us updated.

Jen- Sorry about the mods to the cycle. But, hey, you and Kat can gang up together on this meds/follies stuff.

Baby fussing....

KC- I got the job but the training is going to be on Tuesday and Wednesday after Memorial Day. I'm sure I'll be flying in on Memorial Day. When are you leaving?

Laura- Congrats!!! @ We're going to leave the Tuesday before and will get back the Tues after. Maybe we'll be able to meet for dinner or something on Weds. That would be cool!

Mom and Dad will be here this evening! I didn't get everything done last night that I wanted to, but enough that I won't be totally embarassed!

Karen- I suspect I'll be flying back home Wednesday evening since I have to train people starting Thursday AM. Plus, I'll wanna get to my babies ASAP. I've spent 1 night away from Nathan (aside from 23 days in the hospital) and I didn't enjoy it. I've never been away from Natalie at night. I'm going to miss them something awful.

Laura- We should be back late on Tuesday or earlier. Let me check and see if I have your cell number. Maybe we can find a time when we can meet... breakfast, lunch, or just before you take off. Keep me posted on how your schedule is working. I know it's hard being away from your babies. I have spent a grand total of 4 night away from Kian! What are you going to do about feeding Natalie while you are gone?

Heard from Kris briefly. She just went off BCP and is expecting AF over the weekend. They are going to do another round of IUI, but change up her meds. SHe said they can't afford IVF until after her calves are sold which would probably be late summer or falll.

Happy Easter!!!

KC, so did you get good news on the GD test? I hope so.

I had my appt. on Thursday. All is well with the baby and I found out I am not anemic. That's good, but I still feel pooped all the time. The doc laughed and said I guess that's what 2 two year olds will do to you! Funny for her...

The exciting news is that I now have an OR scheduled for May 29 (the day after Memorial Day), so think of me when you have all your crazy travel stuff going on Laura and KC! I could get bumped or go into labor, but we have a plan at least. Names are still up in the air, but so far Abigail Lee. We like it because Abigail means "Father rejoiced, or father's joy. Gives joy. The intelligent, beautiful Abigail was Old Testament King David's third wife, described as 'good in discretion and beautiful in form.' " and Lee is Todd's middle name (Amelia has my middle name).

Easter was fun. My parents were here for the weekend. Mom got the girls high heels and I thought Anna was too funny:

And the SNOW was CRAZY! It really came down, but none stuck and the roads were fine, so it was perfect.

Thanks for indulging me with a "me" post! Happy Easter!!
