Re: hullabaloo 2
Back from my consult. It isn't going to cost as much as I thought! Thank goodness for insurance covering my meds and monitoring. The procedure itself, assuming we don't need ICSI or cryopreservation will be about $5500. It's sad that I consider that to be not much! Of course, I was expecting $10,000 so I'm celebrating !
Anyway, after this round of BCP, I go back for a sono to see if the cysts have resolved, then I do 2 more weeks of BCP, about 2 weeks of Lupron, then start stimming. We will plan on a 5 day transfer. We won't know exact dates of anything until I get my period and see if my cysts have resolved.
Anyhoo, I hope this time goes by quickly because I'm ready to get this party started!!
BBL for more...

Jen- That is great news! How long do you have to take the pills?
Heather- What a mess! Of course it has to happen at the biggest race of the year! Have fun watching the race this afternoon. I hope you hear about the job soon!

Re: hullabaloo 2
KC... I'm sorry girl about your day. I feel your pain. I've had 2 dr appts and am up to my neck in 10 pages of inventory which is due tomorrow but, I've jsut started to work on today.
Jen...how exciting. I'm glad that you're on your way.
My RE wants to do 4 Femara cycles before moving on to IVF. I told the nurse, hey, I'm currently on cycle 5, FIVE, using femara. WTH!!! On the up side, that gives me a chance to investigate insurance options as it pertains to IVF to see if I need to change this enrollment period.
Heather, any suggestions that?
Anyway, my U/S today shows one 17mm follie on the right,

Re: hullabaloo 2
Kris-If you go with S&W, everything is covered for IUIs but the meds, but for IVF, you can plan on it being about $10K. It doesn't cover any with IVF but I seriously doubt BCBS covers any IVF either. but hey, I honestly think S&W is better than BCBS, but that is just my 2 cents.
Jenn-That is GREAT about the money. Would you only need the cryo if you have embies left over? I hope it does cost you less than $10K but keep the 10K on hand just in case....and then you can spend the leftovers on a new crib and nursery!
KC-No news on the job front still....I must not have gotten the job. I bet she called and made an offer already and is just waiting to tell those who did not get it after the other person accepts. But hey, I am at peace with it eaither way. There were some things I would have to give up to take this job so I am okay staying where I am. And Mikey made it into the race!!! Way to overcome some MAJOR obstacles!

Re: hullabaloo 2
TGIF!!!
Kris - Ugh, I'm sorry that your RE wants to stick with the Femara. You know, you are in charge, so if you feel like you would be wasting your time, you should speak up! I think you should try injects/IUI myself, unfortunately the meds are very expensive if you don't have coverage. Good luck to you.
Heather - Well, I hope you're wrong about the job. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed! Yes, the cryo would be if we have left-over embies. It was interesting, but my Dr. said that only 1 out of 3 or 4 women will actually have any left to freeze. Perhaps that's because they freeze on day 6 and they try not to get too many eggs for higher quality. He said that ideally we would want 15 mature eggs and not all of those will fertilize, then they continue to dwindle and by day 5 when they normally transfer, he said that it's pretty typical to only have 2-3 left. We would only transfer 2 - that's all that I'm comfortable with. Yep, I'm pretty pleased with the cost! You always hear people saying $10K+ and I guess it never occured to me that it would include monitoring and meds . If it turned out that we needed ICSI (my RE was pretty confident that we won't, but you never know), that is something like an additional $1,500. I am guessing that my meds will cost us about $100 (I usually pay $50 for my Follistim no matter how much I've ordered so I suppose that it may be unlimited?) and I only pay my $15 co-pay for office visits. I feel very fortunate to have some insurance coverage.
KC - I hope that your morning today is going a lot better than it did yesterday!!

Re: hullabaloo 2
Heather- I hope you are wrong about the job. You never know, I guess. Yeah for Mikey!
Kris- That blows. I guess since they are doing your meds different, it might be worth a round or two, but 4? I dunno about that!
Jen- Thanks! It is!
Not much going on here. (Thank goodness) What's everyone else up to this weekend? We have to go buy squirt new shoes and some bras for me. Yeap, the udders are back!

Re: hullabaloo 2
Well, the RE had me do a trigger shot last night. I go in for an IUI Saturday morning. They also want me to consult with a genetics counsuler. Some of the tested they did showed that I had some extra DNA on the X chromosome. The RE is not worried about it, but suggests that I see someone so I'll better understand what they found. At least he didn't say, "Hey, you don't need to be having kids." But, I'm still battling that sinking feeling in my stomach.
While y'all are ohhing over NASCAR, I'm wishing I could just get the channel that carries the PBR, so I could see the bull riding.

Re: hullabaloo 2
Oh, we get that channel...not sure which one it is but I know I have seen DH watch it.
Kris- with the IUI. They told me that I could do as much as 6 injectible IUIs but after two we decided to go ahead and move on.
KC-Still no word...I talked to one of the other employees in that office and she said it took her 3 months to find out.... Speaking of bras...you know I went out an splurged and bought these expensive VS bras....well, I had to take them back! They did not fit...I would be spilling out of them by the end of the day...the girls just would not stay put! I figured out that they must be too small...but I think I was in denial...my bra size has gone up 2 sizes since I was pregnant. I got some new ones but they didn't have the IPEX ones in my size....just call me rotunda boobs! They don't even make all their bras in my size. I guess I will just order from online now. Blah! I guiess most people would be excited but I was rather put out!
Jenn-That is interesting about the cryo...I would have thought that more would have some to freeze. Your doc and my doc have the same philosophy...go for fewer with the best quality. I am excited for you to get started and get your + HPT and beta.
I am off to a budget meeting, I will probably be stuck in it for the large part of the afternoon....ugh!
Ta Ta and GO #55!
