Okay...here are the last few posts so we can remember!
From me....
Jennifer-Yes, we had a back up sample. Our clinic does that just in case, they said you just never know and what if your DH got caught in traffic even and missed the perfect timing. So, we have some on file!
From KC
Dona- I always was a sucker for a blue eyed cutie in a cowboy hat! Awesome cake too!
Jen- Can't wait to hear the results! Hopefully they won't put you off for too long!
Laura- I just realized I still didn't answer all of your questions. Obviously, we won't be coming for July 4th this year. We're planning a trip around Labor Day, but it will probably be pretty short. Planning a longer one for Thanksgiving. We should be able to make it to BCS then, maybe even for the game!
Did you know you can't edit posts on this site? I'm catching onto things slowly today. My earlier post should say the placenta is not centered over my cervix, and so he is pretty hopeful it will move. Does that make more sense?
From Dona...
Jen, we didn't. I did ask them about that, and they said since he's had no issues with "donating" before, not to worry about it! I think it's a good idea though.
From me again...
Jennifer--I am glad you are excited, I felt the same way. I was glad to feel a little more informed and felt like I would have more knowledge of the probelm once I was done and just how good or bad the whole situation was. And that is great that some of the stuff is covered, meds and sonos are expensive!
did you trigger this last round? If you triggered, then shouldn't your chance of cysts be less?
And from Jenn
Oh yeah, quick question. Did you all who did IVF have a frozen back-up sperm sample? I'm not sure what my clinic's policy is on that, but I'm thinking that we will definitely do it. A girl on FF just posted last week because her husband just couldn't do it with the pressure even though he'd never really had a problem with IUI, and so everything was wasted. I felt so horrible for her and realized that I would feel much more comfortable having that back-up just in case cause you never know.
KC - I'll be very hopeful that everything is A-OK when you go back for your next sono!
Heather - I hope they hurry up and make their decision!! The waiting must be driving you nuts!
Laura - That's crazy about your student! Thank goodness you were around to help her out.
Dona - Awesome cake! Your "baby boy" is getting so big! We need a current picture of K too! Are L & K best friends?
Thanks for all the kind words . I go tomorrow for a sono and I guess I'll find out more of what the plan is. I have no idea what their process is there as far as suppression. I'm sure that I'll have lots of leftover cysts from this cycle, so I am fully expecting doing a round of BCP regardless. I do feel very fortunate to go to one of the best groups of Dr's in the country for IVF (top 10 in Child magazine). It's primarily due to the lab, Presby Plano ARTs Program which is shared by my doc and 2 others. Anyway, my Dr and the group as a whole averages 68% success rates for IVF per retrieval for women under 35 which seems great. Of course that is not live births, just confirmed pregnancy. I just hope I'm one of those 68%! I'm starting to get excited about the process and anxious to find out more about the schedule and protocal that he will work out for me. Oh, Heather, my insurance does not cover the IVF procedure at all, but they do cover all meds and u/s monitoring. That will help out quite a bit. I'm sure that I'll be asking for lots of advice and words of wisdom from you girls who have BTDT!
Thanks! I think we'll probably do the backup thing. He's never had any trouble providing for IUI, but I just want to make sure that all our bases are covered.
H - We did trigger, but I had so many small follicles that didn't ovulate that they will have probably formed cysts. I had an ovulation confirm sono the day after IUI and I had TONS of pretty large follicles that were just hanging out. They all grew with the trigger and several were 18+ on that day.

Thanks Heather! I appreciate you recapping for all of us.
Dona- That cake ROCKS! Didn't you say you wanted to make a Blue's Clues cake for a very cute little red head boy???? I remember when you were taking the Wilton classes. You did well, girlie. LOVE that cute cowboy pic. how did he spring up so big????? (I mean, Nathan got older but not other kids too...right? LOL) We need a K pic.
KC- Tha'ts cool about all the stuff in the backyard. That's some money when you start investigating all of it. We bought Nathan a Little Tikes 8 in 1 playground from Walmart's website. They had it for 338 plus tax, but had free shipping to the store. That compares to the Little Tikes website at 399 PLUS 100-150 in shipping! yikes! it's a big savings. Unfortunately Walmart can't seem to find an 8 in 1 to send us even though they are listed as "in stock". *sigh*
KC II: I bet everything is a-okay with your sono. Natalie's head, even now, is small. Both Natalie and Nathan's heads were small on sono- as much as two weeks off! Natalie's head is something like 30th percentile when he body (used to be) 90th). It's weird looking, if you ask me. I bet the previa resolves itself. I never knew placentas were mobile creatures until I started talking to ppl in the internet. Isn't that weird that they can and do move?
Jennifer- I can't wait for the sono update. This is going to be a proactive thing. You are going to be *exactly* updated on everything so you'll know answers as you go- rather than wait and see.
Heather- That is cheap on the day scrapbooking thing! Sorry about roto with your sitter's child. As long as they have diarrhea, they are spewing live virus. Ewwww. So contagious! Roto can go longer than 8 days too. Nathan's was THIRTEEN. Poor kid. Poor mommy and daddy.
Jen- I think the backup thing sounds like a good idea. You never no what might happen!
Laura- What a deal! Don't you wonder how Walmart can sell it for less than the manufacturer?
Laura II- I asked on the Due in July board if anyone else had had this problem. One of the ladies that replied explained the whole "moving placenta" thing pretty well. She said if you take a balloon that is partially blown up, put a mark close to the mouth of it, and then finish blowing it up, the mark will end up much further away from the mouth. It's still incredible to think it is sliding along your uterus like that. Another one told me she was told she had complete previa at 30 weeks. It moved enough by the time she was ready to deliver that she was able to have the baby vaginally. Pretty encouraging!
Heather- Thanks for the new thread and recap. Very helpful!
me- not much going on here today. I did manage to get up and work out this morning!
Kc- working out...good for you. What exactly is that? I had tried a new belly dancing workout and really like it but haven;t done it in about 2 weeks. I figured that was the only way to get rid of my extra skin around me tummy. :fluffy
Laura-Sounds like you got a great deal on that playset. I bet he will love it. Nathan had roto for 13 days?? That is awful. The nanny happily called me last night and said "I have weird but good news....he had a solid poop tonight!" She was so excited that they are finally near the end! So, we plan on her watching Landry again starting on Thursday, that should be about 10 days from the start and we think adn hope that is enough since he is one the mend.
Everything else around here is copacetic.

Nathan got tubes at 7 months. Piece o' cake! Sure did make his life a lot easier too. Poor kid. He popped his ear drums (pus and blood running out) numerous times before then. I never knew they could do that.
Dona - Kaelin is such a little lady! Thanks for the pic!
Quick update on my appt. I have 3 MONSTER cysts, like 55 mm each! They couldn't believe that I can't feel them. Anyway, so that means I have to do a round of BCP no matter what. I go for my consult with the Dr Thursday morning to see what the plan is.

So, do they put the kids completely under...how do they react to the anesthesia? I believe so. But not by IV, just gas
Did it really help?Yes. It helped with their runny noses, congestion, moods.
Did they sleep better?Didn't notice any difference.
Are they groggy for long after? Not too bad. They slept all the way home (about an hour) and by that afternoon we playing normally.
What is the protocol after they get them?Back in 2 weeks for a check up and that's it. You don't have to change a thing. Back in the day, you couldn't submerse your head, but now it's not a problem. Mine went swimming all the time. They'll probably give you eardrops if they drain.
Dona-Wow, Kaelin is such a doll....she has changed so much since last time I saw her! She looks tall and slender...no surprise on the slender...but are your kids tall-ies?

Your cuz is sending me to a pediatric ENT guy and he said that the guy is going to push tubes for J. ANd he asked me how I felt about all of that etc...I guess I am okay. I just needed to hear from y'all. I didn't know what the anesthesia etc. involved.
Molly, it's really no biggie. If he suggests it, I'd go for it. It made a world of difference for us (for a while). And the odds of him needing a 2nd set are slim (5% for kids under 1). Since he's over 1 he may not ever need another set. They are only under anest. for 10 minutes tops. And the recovery is practically non-existant.
H, I don't know if they are tall or not!! They are skinny. But I don't have many kids around their age to compare height to. I think they are probably around 34"??? Is that tall for 21 months?
Jennifer- Holy crap! Those are huge cysts! 55 mm = 5.5 cm = a little more than 2 inches across. EACH. I would think you'd feel really full down there. Wow.
Molly- we haven't had to deal with the tube thing ourselves, but everyone we know who has gotten them are glad they did. Anesthesia is always a scary thing!
Jen- OH MY GOSH! Those are humongous! Are they all on one side?
Anyone with big plans for V Day? We're going to dinner just after work, but that's it. We got a Culligan water treatment system for V day. How romantic! Kian painted cards for grandparents and his sitter. That was fun. We gave him a box of conversation hearts this morning. Big suprise, he loved them!
Happy Valentine's Day! My hubby is cooking me a gourmet meal tonight and we're cracking open our best bottle of wine, I can't wait ! I enjoy having these dinners at home so much more than going to restaurants on V-Day.
Yep, those cysts are monsters. Actually, I think only the largest one was 55 mm and the others were in the 40's but still! At first, I thought I was looking at my uterus it was so big! Then I asked him if he just had it really magnified - nope! He said that they're not the largest he'd ever seen, but they were definitely up there. I have two on one side and one on the other. I just hope these BCP's zap 'em.
H - Any job news???
Good luck to the kiddos getting tubes!

Jennifer- When do they work out/give you your IVF schedule? Do they wait to see how the cysts are doing before working out a schedule? Are you going to order your drugs? So many questions. I guess I want all the details. LOL
Molly- The ENT said the only reason they even do anethesia is because they are babies. He said they can do tubes as an OFFICE procedure with adults. It's a 10 minute thing. Literally. I think J will be away from you around 30-ish minutes, if I remember correctly. It's easy, easy, easy. Trust me, I don't think you'll regret getting him tubes. In fact, I think you'll wonder why they didn't send you before then. It was night and day difference for Nathan. He was miserable. Got tubes. And started sleeping during the night and being happy again. We were lucky in that we were already seeing an ENT for his laryngomalacia. The ENT told us we'd likely have to do tubes because he was having bad ear infections in the summer.
Happy V Day!
I've been awake since midnight. Fun. Poor Natalie just didn't want to sleep. I have no idea why.
