Re: Gig 'em 6
Hello!
Kat - Oh my, you have had a really tough week! I was getting worried about you, and it seems rightly so! It completely sucks that it ended this way, but you are so right to look at the positive things that it has told you. Next time you will get your forever baby! I'm sorry to hear about Jason's foot too, yikes! I hope you both continue to heal and feel much better soon.
KC - Tomorrow is the big day!!! I can't wait to hear if it's a girl or boy!! We seem to have started a girl streak!
Heather - It sounds like you have your hands full with work these days! Yay, for Thursdays right?
Me - Well, my appt was uneventful to say the least. We just met with my Dr (who is very pregnant by the way!) and talked about the dos and dont's future appts, etc., had a ton of bloodwork and scheduled my sono for tomorrow at 11:30. I'm so glad I don't have to wait much longer! I was kinda disappointed that I didn't get my u/s yesterday, but oh well. I like this situation much better with the 3 docs better than my previous Dr who was on her own, because I'll get to meet with all 3 at some point, especially while my doc is on maternity leave, so I'll know exactly who would deliver me (i.e. one of the three docs in the practice).

Re: Gig 'em 6
I'm going to post pics real quick, and then reply to everyone. Sorry they are so big. I can't get them to downsize in photobucket anymore without getting tiny.

Todd's mom put the finishing touches on it when she was here. They plan to add more animals and bugs when they are here in the next few weeks.

Re: Gig 'em 6
Kat- I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. I'm glad they were still watching you so closely. I guess if there is a good side to it, you 2 can make good embies together and you won't have to have a second lap to get the endo cleaned out before your next round. And to have Jas's injury on top of all that! OY! Ligament injuries are hard to get over. I hope it heals fast.
Kat II- My brother's eye problems started with the retina issues. He had the typical lightening flashes and loss of areas of vision that the docs always tell you to watch for. He had it tacked down 2 different times. The floaters were a result of the surgeries, and they apparently were getting really bad. The docs thought they would clear up, but his fluid started getting cloudy too. So they decided to do this vitrectomy and take the fluid out. They pump the fluid out one side and gas into the other to maintain the pressure. His eye will eventually absorb the gas and replace the fluid. While they were doing that, they realized there was a small spot in his retina that had come up. So they tacked it back down and put a band around his eye. He says he can see some now if he is laying so that the fluid is on his retina (on his back). I have floaters too, but they are different. Mine aren't solids in the fluid, but are shadows of the membrane that lay on top of the retina. It peeled off a few years ago, but my retina is fine. The difference is mine follow the same track all the time instead of randomly floating around. The tell-tale signs of retina detachment are the lightening flashes and loss of areas of vision. So that is what you really need to watch for. Let your eye doc know about the floaters though since it can be a sign of problems. Does that help?
Jen- Uneventful appts are good! I'm sorry you have to wait for your u/s. Tomorrow will be a big day around here! Are you going to find out the sex...obviously not tomorrow, but when the time comes? How you feeling?
Heather- I hope things calm down soon!
Me.. just anxious and nervous. I'm ready to be done with all this, but nervous about the surgery. I'll call Laura to let her know how things went as soon as I can tomorrow! Thank you all for being there and being such a wonderful, supportive group!

Re: Gig 'em 6
Kat- I really am so sorry that things keep piling up for you. It's bittersweet to have the success of a healthy embie- just in the wrong place. I don't know how I'd take that. Will you be able to try another IVF this summer or will it spill into the Fall? I really hope you can get preggo soon. You've been through enough.
KC- I can't believe your little baby is making it's debut tomorrow! I totally forgot about that. I knew it was soon, but time just flies!!! Are you nervous?
Karen- Congrats on your sweet little girl. The jaundice sounded like it was frightening. Normal jaundice- nothing to worry about. But, wow, the jaundice must have been scary. How is she doing now? How are YOU doing with 3 little people?
Jennifer- I'm glad you'll get your sono tomorrow. I know you are holding your breath until you get to see the munchkin again. I know I was always on the verge of being sick to my stomach with each sono. I'm sure it's even more so for you.
I'm working my butt off. I don't have time to pump much and I am being forced to wean Natalie. Natalie will be 8 months old on Saturday and it's breaking my heart to wean her. She didn't want to wean. I didn't want to wean. I just couldn't juggle the pumping... It's just so sad.

Re: Gig 'em 6
Laura--Hey, you made it to 8 months and that is a great accomplishment! Its always sad to have to wean, especially when you just can't fit in the time. But, you are a mom of 2 and a professional...there are just not enough hours in the day! I can't wait to hear from you that baby and KC are doing great!
I am going to say GIRL!!! Any other guesses?????
KC--Thinking + thoughts about you!!!
Jennifer-Uneventful appointments are great! You will have a ton of them but every one is just as reassuring as the last that everything is okay!
Me-I am doing well, I am a little melancholy (sp?). A firend of mine passed away this week, he was 76, a war veteran, one of the most uplifting, faithful, and dedicated men I have ever known. He has been a hero to so many people in this area and has been heavily involved in scouts of the years and just a stalwart in our church and the community. He had suffered some almost fatal injuries in the war and has battled back to have a normal life, even though it was a life of severe pain and eventually loosing the use of his legs in the last 5 years and being wheelchair bound. When you asked him how he was doing, he always answered "Blessed by the Lord!" Well, he had some set backs in the last few months and has had to be put in a nursing home and his health has heavily deteriorated and he has had some dementia and depression.. We heard on Wednesday that he had passed away while they were taking him out on an outing around town. We all just assumed he died of natural causes but we heard on the news that he went into Champion Firearms Shooting Range and shot himself. He had been a customer there for 14 years so no one would ever assume that he would do something like that. We are still wondering if it somehow could have been an accident since he has lost some of his mobility...but who knows. The man I knew (and have known for almost 20 years) would NEVER have done that to his family, friends, or innocent bystanders. Now we are all wondering what the medications were doing to him and everyone is just heartbroken. So, its been weighing on my mind for days...I am really more concerned with his sweet wife and kids. His son in law and grandson were also at the shooting range. I cannot even imagine their grief. Sorry to be such a downer, I just need to work this out in my head and I think I have realized that I just cannot. I believe he was just not in his right mind. Its just so unfortunate that a life lived for good and helping people has to end this way.
On to other things....I have been super busy with meetings...mainly budget and a few last interviews. Hopinf that we will have another candidate secured and accepted by next week and just one left to go but we have struggled with this one for a few months and just are having a ahrd time finding the right person.
I am glad it is Friday! I need a weekend to vaccum and dust!
Ta Ta,
H

Re: Gig 'em 6
I'm back from the u/s and everything looked great! The baby is measuring 9w2d with a nice strong heart rate! As were watching, he/she just started stretching and moving and grooving in there - it was so cool! I'm feeling much more calm about this pregnancy now because I admit, I was still really nervous.
Heather - What a terrible thing to happen to your friend! It's so hard to understand why people would take their own lives. So sad.
Laura - I think 8 months is great! You're a champ for doing that long even working full time!
KC - I'm waiting!!
