Here is a new thread for us!

I hope everyone had a great 4th. It was rainy and rainy here...seems to be the typical thing these days and we should have rain until Sunday! I cannot beleive how green and lush everything is and its JULY in Texas! Crazy!

My lawn is looking great but I need to cut it like every 4 days!!!

How are the new mommas? How are the future mommas? How are the current and possibly future mommas?

We need updates from everyone!!!!

Hey girls!!

Kat - I'm so glad to hear from you!! And I'm so glad to hear that things have improved in your household and that you get to start another cycle so soon!!!! Woohoo!!! I'm so excited for you and just know that it will work for you this time. Are you doing Follistim again? I have a 600 iu that I never opened and I'd be happy to send it to you no charge at all, since insurance covered it for me so it was only $50 for my whole slew of meds. Just let me know!! Please keep us posted - we're your official cheerleaders!

Heather - Isn't this rain crazy? I remember this time last year, everything was so brown and dry.

Well, we had a good time in Waco and it actually didn't rain a drop on us yesterday which was great! We went to a block party and then the guys played golf and my SIL and I took Drew to Ratatoillie (I'm sure I've completely butchered the spelling) and he hated it. He was terrified the whole time for some reason! I thought it was really cute, but it is a premise that I can see kids not really appreciating.

So, we also drove in straight from Waco this morning to our NT scan and I'm so pleased and RELIEVED to say that everything looked just perfect!!! The measurement was super good and now we wait for the bloodwork to get here in a about a week but we don't anticipate anything bad there since the measurement was so good - it was 1.1 ml and they want it to be less than 3. Stretch was just chilling in there, maybe napping, but we did see an arm waving around! HB was still strong and we got to finally hear it! And, he did take a guess at the sex and he said that it was definitely too early to know for sure, but he guessed........girl!! We would be absolutely thrilled with either of course! I'm not going to start getting my heart set on a girl at all just yet. Anyway, that's my news!

H - It is weird all the rain we're getting. I keep telling myself that as annoying as it is, it is better than a drought.

Jen - So glad that things went well for you this am! That is just wonderful news (the health and the possibility of a girl!!!). I know that you and Brad would be happy with either though. If you don't mind sending me the follistim I would love to have it. My insurance doesn't cover my meds so they are quite expensive for me. WAYYY more than $50 for the whole thing. WAY more than $50 for 1 pen. Do you have my home address? When do you get the b/w results?

Me - Well, I picked up Baxter from the animal hospital today. He is pretty pissed at me. He really wouldn't even look at me. Maybe that was b/c I was laughing at him. He had one of those blue lampshade things around his neck b/c he is licking his wound. But it is a cloth one so it looks like he has a flower around his neck. I do have to say that it is might CUTE! I took him to PetCo to buy him some stuff for his recovery and there was a little girl there that kept wanting to pet him. I don't know about you, but I don't think I would let my kid pet a strange pet, mind you one that has been shaved and looks like he's stoned. I told her repeatedly not to pet him b/c he wasn't feeling well. Thought her mom would step in, but she didn't.

Poor Baxter! Those lampshade things totally crack me up - they do look pretty cute and silly! I hope he recovers quickly! Will he be able to walk for a while? Anyway, on the Follistim, I don't have your home address, but you can just e-mail it to me - jringleb98@yahoo.com. He said it would take 4 business days to get the bloodwork back, so I figure about a week.

I have a question for y'all. What should I expect at my "regular" OB appointments? I go next week on the 11th for my first "regular" appt and will have them every 4 weeks for a while. Anyway, Brad and I were talking about whether he wants to come to those or not. I know that there will be no u/s, but maybe we'll hear the h/b? I just have no idea what to expect!

Howdy Folks---

Kat-Score on the free meds for Jenn! I had a friend who did an IVF cycle before me and send me 20 vials...it was wonderful and saved me a ton of dough! I hope Baxter is feeling better soon and not so mad at you. Poor guy! GL on this next cycle!!!!!!

Jennifer-my DH went to almost all my appointments, he didn;t want to miss anything. I think he only missed one. With that being said, they are all about the same for a while. They generally measure your tummy, the general guideline is one cm for every week along you are, take your blood pressure, weight, and then listen to the heartbeat with the monitor and my doc would tell me the heartbeat count. It tends to slow down each time. He would also talk to us about the stages were were in, like what tests might be coming up and what things we needed to be doing or eating or whatever. I liked that my DH went with me because he felt like he was part of everything and we knew this may be the only baby we ever have, but I know lots of guys who would be okay with missing it too.

My best friend from Colorado was in town yesterday and I got to spend a little bit of time with her before she flew out today. She has been on vacation with her entire family (parents, sisters, neices, brothers, etc) in Galveston. I found out her younger brother, who was my dance partner in college and a great friend, now has 5 kids but that his wife just left him. Their ages are 1-10. She has also decided she wants the kids so she moved 2 hours away from him and took the kids. She decided she wanted to work and have a different life and not be married to him anymore, then she realized she wanted the kids too. This is a very devoted husband and father and I am sure he is devestated. The divorce isn't final yet and she is already dating. He drives those 2 hours every weekend and every Thursday night so he can have his time with the kids, he calls them every night to say good night....I just cannot beleive she has done this. She now has a nanny and the kids never get to see her. He wants custody but they live in West Texas and supposedly the husband never wins custody in west Texas, they always side for the mom. I just feel for him and the kids...they are great kids. I guess it just goes to show you that there are no guarantees in life, you just have to have faith that it will all work out. He had given her plenty of opportunites to go back to school and finish her degree but she never took him up on it and now her mother (very powerful woman in the area) has goteen her a really nice job that she is way under qualified for, she only has a year of college and probably was put in above people with years of expereince and degrees. Oh well, I just pray that he and the kids can make it through this...or that she realizes what she is doing to her family. He gave her all these options to try to help her out and try to save the family but she said she just wanted a new husband and a new life. I just want to call her and say "Hey, what are you doing? What is up?" I just can't beleive she would do this!

Anyway, sorry to be a downer...I just cannot believe it is happening!

H - Wow that is really sad. It makes you wonder what she is thinking.

Jen - Can't help you with the OB appts questions. Soon enough...
When you get a chance, look at an off topic post on FF titled Carter & Nolans mom and tell me what you think.

Baxter is better today. He is still being a picky eater, but that isn't anything that a little bacon grease didn't take care of. He is moving around a little more and has some personality. Yesterday he was just a zombie. Hopefully in a couple of days he'll be as back to normal as he can be. We go back in 2 weeks for them to check his leg and for him to get his staples removed. BTW, did I tell you that I looked into having his surgery at A&M and the earliest they could get him in was 7/23!!! I would have loved to have had it up there, but I couldn't wait that long. A&M must be doing pretty well!

H - I didn't know you still had access to FF. I just don't understand saying that you're not going to pay for their services b/c you chose to not get insurance during your husband's time off of work. And to not get insurance with 2 kids! CRAZY!

Enjoy your Mexican food! Yum!

I know...I am one of those people who makes sure they always have insurance. DH and I went for 2 weeks one time in between jobs where one insurance ran out before the other one started and we both got MASSIVE sinus infections and were miserable! We ended up going to one of those little clinic places and paid cash. We learned to always have insurance! Especially with kids! Eeek!

I still check FF every once in a while and I still do my charting just to keep track of things and make sure my PCOS isn't acting up. It helps me to keep track of things.

Meican food was yummy! Have a lovvely weekend all!

It's the weekend - yippee!!

Kat - I just e-mailed you because I also have 3 vials of Menopur left, but I am thinking that you used Repronex instead - is that right? Anyway, if you happen to be using Menopur this time, I'll throw those in too! I also agree with y'all that that girl is in the wrong.

Heather - I'm glad you enjoyed your Mexican food! We had it for dinner last night!

We ended up going to the Keith Urban concert last night! We are becoming quite the concert goers these days! Anyway, Brad's boss had bought tickets but they ended up not being able to go at the last minute so he gave them to us! It was actually a really good show. Have a nice weekend everyone!

I thought Menopur and Repronex were the same thing? Just different "brand" name or something?

Concert sounds fun!

I am in training for 2 days but had a moment to pop in and say hi!

If any of you have not hear the Granger Smith song "We Bleed Maroon" it is a great song!

Hello!

Dona - That's funny that you were there too! Hope work slows down for you soon! I thought it was supposed to be getting better for you!

Heather - Yes, you're right. I hadn't realized that they were just interchangable - cool! I forgot to comment about your friend below. That is just so sad. I don't understand why a woman would take her kids from their father like that.

Kat - I hope AF shows soon! I know you're sick and tired of waiting.

How are our new moms?

Me - I finally spilled the beans at work and it went fine. I was so nervous about it for some reason! It is nice to have it out in the open.

Dona - Don't you mean "busier" season? You can't even come up for air normally!

Jen - So glad the announcement went well at work. I completely understand being nervous telling people. Did you tell about the IF stuff too or do they already know? Are you still planning to be a SAHM?
BTW, According to UPSs website the pkg should be delivered today. I'll let you know for sure when it gets here.

Kat - That would be great if the package gets there today! That's super fast! Yes, I do still plan to stay home, and I haven't told them that yet. We're evaluating our financial situation to make sure that it will work, so I can't say that it is for sure, but we're willing to make sacrifices to do it. I have had to do a little bit of fibbing already and I'm the worst liar on the planet but hopefully I've been convincing enough by saying that my plan is to come back. I haven't decided when to break that news to the boss, but it will definitely have to be at least a few months before January because I want to give him time to try to find a replacement. He's already stressing about me being out for a few months, so I'm sure that news won't go over too well!

Baxter is definitely feeling better. He has got his attitude back so I know he is feeling fine. The only thing I am worried about is that somehow he has managed to remove one of the staples in his leg, but it still looks okay. I have a call into the vet on that one.

Do you get maternity benefits? If so, you may want to think about waiting until you are on maternity leave to quit. I know you want to give your boss time to get your job filled, but my understanding (and it has been a long time since I worked in HR) is that if you're not coming back then they don't have to offer you maternity benefits - they can make your last day be whatever day they want it to be and therefore you wouldn't be eligible for STD. My company never did this, but it was talked about in a few extreme cases. Just a though. Not trying to worry you though.

I really think that AF might come either today or tomorrow! I have been very emotional and crying and stuff since yesterday. I was talking to my mom about it and how I was having a horrible day yesterday and she reminded me that it may be PMS. Oddly enough, that made me feel better.

HI DONA!!!!! We miss you! How are your kiddos? Does DH still love his job? Do you still hate yours?

Kat-Glad Baxter is feeling better!!!! Come on

Jennifer-I agree with Kat, use everything you can. I just told people I was planning on coming back, because I really wasn't sure how I would feel once I was in the situation since I had never been in that situation before. IT worked out okay for me, plus I had lots of sick time and was able to be off for almost 3 months and then came back gradually part time then went up to full time.

Yea its Wednesday! Tomorrow DH and I are going to leave Landry with the sitter to go see the new Harry Potter movie. I honestly don't remember what the last movie I saw in the theatres was, maybe Chronicles of Narnia??? Anyway, its been way too long since we had a movie date! He is taking the afternoon off and we are going to a matinee!

We leave for our mini-vacation/anniversary trip in 2 weeks to Fredricksburg. We are staying in a B&B and I need to call today and set up our appointments for 1.5 hour massages for both of us...I can't wait!
