Default Taking herbs

Hi ladies!

I'm new to this board. I have hypo, which was diagnosed after I had a m/c a few years back. I'm on Synthroid, and my #s have been good for over a year now.

I'm now on a rest cycle from fertility treatments and getting acupuncture done. My acupuncturist wants me to try herbs, and he knows I'm on Synthroid. Here are the herbs he wants me to try for the first week of cycle: shu di huang, tao hong si wu tang, dang gui, chuan xiong, bai shao, tao tren and hong hua.

Do any of you know if these herbs will interact negatively with the Synthroid?

Thanks!!
Katie

I gave the names of these herbs to my endocronologist, and he had no idea. My acupuncturist said that it will not affect the Synthroid at all as long as I don't take the herbs within so many hours of taking Synthroid. So, I plan to try them and test my blood after one month. If there's a negative change, I'll stop.

Hello!

After taking Chinese herbs for 1.5 months, my thyroid levels are still within range! So, it doesn't seem to have an effect on the thyroid. Yeah! Just thought I'd update you all on this great observation!

Some herbs cause the body to "flush" so if you take your regular meds hours before or hours after(preferably after) your body should be able to retain them.

Herbs can be a fairly powerful tool in TTC. I used Black Cohosh capsules when I was getting ready to TTC with my second
