My heart races, as I have mentioned before. I was wondering of you guys experience the opposite? IE, your resting heart rate is very low as mine is extremely high.

My heart doesn't race like yours, mine will have an irregular beat once and a while, like it skips a beat or something. Tends to kind of irk me, I think I'll ask the dr about that the next time I'm there.

I'm pretty sure my resting h/r is not low...I just took it and it was 90bpm which is actually kind of high isn't it? And usually when I exercise, I go to the gym and they have those treadmills with the hand h/r sensors, and my h/r is rarely below 100 when I first step onto it! Then when I'm walking 3 mph it goes up into the 140's...it's actually kind of hard to keep it down cuz I'm supposed to keep it in the 120's or 130's when exercising.

I am new here but I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I am very overweight but when I exercise at Curves, I have a heck of a time getting my heartbeat up to even the lowest number that it is supposed to be at (18 which comes out to 108 beats per minute). I have to jog as fast as I possibly can to get it up there - I have not ever gotten it higher than where it is supposed to be no matter how hard I try. Maybe the hypothyroidism has somthing to do with that, I don't know. I find it to be the opposite of what I was expecting.

When I was hyper (Sept 98) my heart would RACE. Bugged me so bad, they put me on toprol for it. Since I have been hypo I don't notice it.

...now I am on Labetalol for PIH and so that slows your heart rate as well....
