Hashimoto's Disease
Hi there, new to this board, just noticed it today in fact!!!
My GYN noticed back in February that I had a node on my neck, near my thyroid. She also got the results back from a blood test, showing abnormal TSH levels. She referred me to an Endo, who confirmed the node and who did another blood test, confirming the abnormal TSH levels. He brought me back in for an ultrasound and then later, for a biopsy. Inconclusive results on the biopsy, but at least he was able to finally get me a prescription for Levoxyl for my Hashimoto's (hypothyroid) Disease. Another fun, painful biopsy later revealed that the node was ok and that they just want to check me every year to make sure that it has not grown.
Took another blood test two days ago to check my TSH levels and make sure that he has me at the right dosage with the Levoxyl. I am unable to continue in my TTC process until we get this darn thyroid under control.
Does anyone else here have Hashimoto's Disease??

Re: Hashimoto's Disease
My mother has hashimotos disease. She was diagnosed about 5 years go, when she was 44. It goes up and down. She takes her meds regularly, but often ends up hyperthyroid. My grandmother and my brother have thyroid problems as well. Actually, it was odd, because my mom found out she had hashimotos at the same time she found out she had type 1.5 diabetes.

Re: Hashimoto's Disease
I have Hashimoto's. I was diagnosed during an inferility workup. Mine wasn't too out of control. It goes through swings, but never hyper so far. Basically, it usually is normal after a med increase, then drops a bit, and then goes hypo, and I need an increase in meds. Thyroid slowly being destroyed, I guess.
