Well, first let me say that I had one heck of an emotional rollercoaster weekend and I went to my ultrasound today fearing the worst news possible. I was in tears before the sonographer even came into the room.
She inserted the probe and the first thing out of her mouth was....there is the fetal pole, and here is the heartbeat! I wanted to jump off the table with excitement. The baby measured 7.2mm and 6w4d with a h/b of 131. She said that everything looked perfect and right on schedule. So, for the strange part...my hcg level today was 18,038 (up from 1,476 on Thursday). The nurse and doctor are stumped and were actually going to contact the lab to check for error on Thursday's level. In any event, I was told to contact my regular ob/gyn for an appointment in the next week or two and call back with my date and they will send my records. Wow! I am so dang excited and relieved!!!! Thanks for all the supportive words over the past few days.
