Icon5 Removal of Cysts?

Hey Guys,

I'm new here. I was diagnosed with PCOS this year, and have been trying to conceive. I've been pretty active over on the Femara boards, but I thought you ladies might be more helpful for PCOS issues. I'm so glad you're here!

I just went in for a scan two weeks ago and my MD mistook two cysts for follicles. Anyway, after an hCG injection and mysterious bleeding, we did another scan and found the same cysts, which he has now identified as not viable eggs, but cysts...only they'd grown 8mm. (They're now both about 38mm).

He put me on a B/C pill for three weeks and said if they don't dissipate we'll have to do surgery. Have any of you had any experience with this and TTC?

Did your cysts dissipate, or did you have to have them removed?
If they were removed, did they show up as cancerous?
How quickly did you resume TTC after removal/dissipation?

Thanks for all your help, guys!
Melanie

Default Re: Removal of Cysts?

What kind of cysts are these? It is my understanding that ovarian cysts are different from cysts associated with PCOS. I had a cyst removed from my ovary 11 years ago, but was just recently diagnosed with PCOS. When I asked my doc if the two were related, he said no.

I was also put on bc, but my doc's reasoning was to shrink my ovaries, control my hormones, and help regulate my cycle (even though once I get off them in a month, they'll be out of whack again). I know it's frustrating! TTC and on the pill (or the patch, in my case) SUX!
