Hi Tiffany,
I'm right there with you. I was just diagnosed with PCOS this week and I started Glucophage 2 days ago.
My doctor suspected that I might have PCOS over a year ago, but then she found pre-cancerous cells on my cervix through an abnormal pap and things got sidetracked. I had a LEEP procedure in Aug 05 and this past February I went off BCPs so my husband and I could TTC our first child. I got pregnant immediately but had a miscarriage in April at 8 weeks.
My doctor wanted me to have two normal cycles before trying again, but I've never had normal cycles while off the pill. After having a D&C, it took 6 weeks for my first AF, and 32 days later I had a "soft-of" AF. It was very light and only for 2 days. That was mid-July and I have not had my period since. So I went to see my doctor this week.
My inability to lose weight, acne, excess hair, etc. (name your symptom!), and my inability to ovulate normally had her convinced that I do indeed have PCOS. She put me on medroxyprogesterone to bring on my period and I am also taking Glucophage. I will also start taking Clomid once my AF shows up, to increase the chances that I ovulate. I'm 35. I'm not getting any younger and I want a baby!
So that's my story.
