Before I knew I had PCOS, I only knew that I had acne and no periods. Once I tried to get pregnant, I was told why I was experiencing these symptoms. The PCOS has many symptoms that don't always strike everyone. I happen to be thin with mild acne. When I was diagnosed with PCOS I found out the women with pcos have higher androgen levels. That is related to testosterone. We produce too much and therefore get acne, hair growth etc.
After my pregnancy, I noticed that my skin got better. It wasn't oily anymore. It was actually dry! Something about being pregnant helped that problem. Now that I am cycling again, my skin has gotten worse. Dr.'s don't know enough about PCOS to give us a long range plan to treat it. All they can do is tell us how to manage it in the moment.
Good luck with your baby.
