Default New here.

I am ttc#2. I have PCOS and got pregnant with my first baby on gonal F shots. I do not ovulate and clomid never worked for me. I got pregnant the first month on gonal F. My baby boy was born prematurely last March at only 26 weeks of gestation. He is doing great though.
How many of you continued with Metformin during your pregnancy? I was on it during my last pregnancy through 13 weeks.
I am going to infertility doctor today to see about start gonal f shots. I want my babies to be close in age. I am also hitting 35 years of age and don't want to wait much longer to get pregnant. I am nervous about a second preemie though. Especially, since they don't know why I had him early.
Is PCOS linked to prematurity?

I've never heard of anything. I'm 8 weeks and I'm still on glucophage - will be until 12ish weeks. I've heard similar timeframes from the other pregger women out there.

Good luck to you on your next journey. I got my daughter on the first cycle of Gonal F too!!!

Let us know if you have any other questions

I was on met until 12 weeks. As far as PCOS being linked to prematurity, I haven't heard anything about that.

I'm glad everything worked out for your boy, and hopefully you'll be able to have another in close range. Good luck.

How does Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) affect a woman while pregnant?
There appears to be a higher rate of miscarriage, gestational diabetes, pregnancy-induced high blood pressure, and premature delivery in women with PCOS. Researchers are studying how the medicine, metformin, prevents or reduces the chances of having these problems while pregnant, in addition to looking at how the drug lowers male hormone levels and limits weight gain in women who are obese when they get pregnant.

I too had my girls prematurely(28wks) as well as my older dd(36wks). I don't really know if it was PCOS linked or not though. This time, they felt it was probably due to it being twins. I was on metformin until 12 wks with this last pg. Best of luck!
