Ray -

I was very scared when I was first diagnosed with it as well. Different doctors will treat it different ways. I know a lot of the woman on here have tried metformin (glucophage) which is meant to help treat diabeties. I was started on this in August. It was really rough on my stomach the first couple of months but now i am used to it and it doesn't really bother me anymore. The metformin didn't do anything for me on its own so in December I start my first round of the metformin clomid combo. So far that isn't working either, but I do know that several woman on this board have gotten pregnant with this mix, and several other woman got pregnant other ways with PCOS.

Again welcome and good luck!!!

Ray!

PCOS can be a very scary thing. There are a lot of different treatments to help with getting pregnant. Unfortuantely not all of them work for every woman. Like Keri, I tried Metformin alone with no success. I also tried Clomid alone with no success. But when I took them together I started having regular cycles and on my fourth cycle I got pregnant.

There are many women who have tried IUI's, Clomid, Metformin, Femara, injectibles, probably other meds, and also IVF. All have had different responses, it all depends on how your body responds to them. We recently had about 5 graduates due to some type of meds listed.

The welcome thread has some great links with information for PCOS that you should check out for more information. You can always ask questions here and I'm sure someone will respond.

Good luck TTC # 1!

Don't be scared hun, there are lots of success stories with women who have much more severe PCOS than you. Most importantly, read up on it, become a PCOS know it all and then work closely with a Dr you trust.

Don't be scared. We are all here to support and help in any way possible. There are women getting PG with PCOS all the time. Some just take longer than others. Hang in there and let us know if you have any questions.

Hey Ray-
I was just looking through some posts and wanted to say hi. I was just diagnosed a month ago and was scared myself. I just started metformin which is not that fun...for insulin resis and to get my testosterone down....but it helps to hear how everybody else has dealt with things. Feel free to drop me a line and good luck!
