Default New frustrated mommy wannabee here

Hi everyone!!
My name is Kat and I have been apart of P&B for a long time but am thinking I may need to shift my focus over here after TTC for 2 years post DEPO. I just went to my dr last month to really start talking tests etc and am quite frustrated. I did have a full range of blood tests done and the only high number was testosterone at 58. Now he wants me to have an HSG and Sperm analysis for hubby, both of which are not covered by insurance!! We were not able to get either tests done this cycle because of our schedules <I work nights and go to nursing school>. I just have this feeling that I have PCOS. I am also hanging out to lots of weight right around my midsection <thighs to belleybutton area> I just dont know how to approach my dr with the subject of PCOS as he is an unapproachable kind of guy ughhhhh

I just wanted to say Welcome to the board. This board doesn't seem to active.

It is important to have an Re you are confortable with. My last RE wasn't friendly so I switched.

I think all ins. should cover infertility. I hope you get the time to get those tests done. Those will tell you alot.

Dani

Have you considered a second opinion? My second RE was a difficult one. I pretty much had to beg and plead for glucophage and the dxs of PCOS. Do you have a lot of sxs of pcos?

A thought might be to visit an endocrinologist ( a regular one). Mine is in charge of my pcos.

Employers should be required to carry IF on their adopted insur. plans. In our state insur. companies have to offer it, but employers can choose. I have diagnostic only, which can really add up. I hope you can get the tests doen soon.

Good luck!

Ok Ladies here's The skinny on PCOS from a PRO! I was diagnosed with PCOS at about 12yrs old. No one in my family on either side had it.??? So They started me on Birthcontrol pills to regulate my cycles. However due to me being so young I GUESS they allowed me to have a cycle but it was SO painful so theytried different kinds until i was about 16 a lot of emotional UP & DOWNS! I graduated High school at 17 went to college and got married 2 yrs later I later divorced after 5 years but wgile i was married i had two CRYO surgeries b/c of abnormal paps and all the while the CYSTS where multiplying and getting bigger! well about 2002 I had to have a major surgery to have a ovary & a fallopian tude removed, plus the DOC shelled the other ovary. The diagnoses was that one ovary and tube was completely covered with cysts and could not be saved, while the other one was 75% covered but b/c i was so young they didnt want to take both. The doctor told me that I had less than 15% chance of ever having kids but that was better than 0. Also that it would take about 1 year for my body to regulate and repair the shelled ovary. I was put on glucophage and lost a lot of weight and my type 2diabetes went away but no baby it has taken almost 4 years but Im pregnant ALMOST 16 weeks w/ no problems ! I know this will make you all have a half smile and half frown. I finally did get pregnant but It took a long time, also the clomid did not work the fertility blend did not work and the ovulex gave false positives. I just prayed and prayed and then honestly I gave up, bought a dog, and went back to college after thinking it would never happen and at the worst time I POP UP PREGNANT! So now im divorced living with a guy for about 2 years and working fulltime and in school fulltime with a fulltime baby my dog and THE MIRACLE HAPPENS ! DONT BE SAD LADIES IF THEY SAY ITS UNEXPLAINED JUST PRAY AND MOVE ON AND ALOT OF TIMES EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT BELIEVE IT, IT MAY JUST HAPPEN!
