I haven't been online in a while, but I had some information about a new drug that in it's trials is showing good promise for Weight Loss, IR, Heart Heath, PCOS, Diabeties and many other issues. My RE told me that we can expect this drug to be out sometime around April. I would be interested to know what your RE or Endo has to say about it. He was involved in a trial in Phase II with the drug and said he had trememdous results for women with PCOS. A large majority of them did not have to take injectables while on this drug and had normal ovulations.

The name is Rimonabant ( marketed as Acomplia )

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If anyone knows anything about it or finds out let me know.

I've never heard of it before. Just glancing at the site you listed it looks like it's a weightloss drug and not something that regulates insulin levels etc., right?

I'm too paranoid to try diet pills esp. something new and mixing it with my other medications (mainly thryoid and bp meds). My doctors have always suggested diet and exercise. They've never given me info on diet pills.

Do you plan on trying it if it's approved? Good luck to you and I hope it works!!

My RE did tell me it was a weightloss drug. I too am scepticle about weightloss drugs however for me diet and exercise have not worked either. He said however that the loss of weight is what helps those that are over weight with the PCOS and lack of ovulation. Depending on if I get pregnant before then I will probably try it to see what happens. Since my RE was involved in the trials and had some very good response with women who had PCOS in Fertility I may try it. He has not lead me down the wrong path yet so I trust him.
