Icon5 Hi, I'm a newbie to the forums

Hello everyone, I'm 33 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS in April, 2003, at that time i was also told i may have a cyst/tumor on my pituitary gland. At that time i ws only concerned with the PCOS, due to weight gain, infertility, adult onset acne, facial hair-growth, i was put on metformin and ortho-tricyclin lo-dose, after being on ortho for 6 months i was taken off due to my cholestrol levels, shortly after that i had to also stop the metformin due to weakness in my legs), the doctors wanted to see if that was causing the weakness, i have been off all of my medications since late 2004, I was trying for years to loose weight, but everything i did was a failure, i was walking 5 days a week and 3 days a week walking on a treadmill, and 2 days a week doing cardio, exercises, did that for a year straight and still gained weight, i even followed a strict diet, but yet i still gained weight. I am also a juvenile diabetic. Today i finally got around to calling my O.B. to find out what the name of the test was and my results of the test for the cyst/tumor on my pituitary gland, i was told the test was Prolactin and that my levels were elevated at the time of testing. So i decided to research this on the internet and found out about a condition called prolactin-producing tumor, the symptoms to this are quit similar to PCOS, so from what i can gather i have both PCOS and pituitary producing tumor. I was wondering does anyone else who has PCOS also have the pituitary producing tumor?

I am very happy to say that my husband and i are blessed with a beautiful daughter, who was conceived in December 1998, and born July 29,1999
