Default hi, I'm new here...

Hello! I am new here, and really to all message boards. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 09/2006. We conceived our first child in 01/2003 naturally, but it took fifteen months of trying. We both had fertility tests in 11/2002, and were both told that everything was normal. Then, out of the blue, I got pregnant two months later! Our second baby was different. We started TTC in 11/2004, and after nine months, nothing. And, at this time, I had no idea I had PCOS. So, my obgyn gave me clomid, and I got pregnant about two weeks later. Sooooooo, my question is: how do you know how severe your case of PCOS is? Ever since I started menstruating, I have always had an extremely regular cycle. Every 28-30 days, always. I guess I just don't ovulate regularly. I really would like to get pregnant soon, but I don't want to have to take clomid again. Is there anything natural that helps ovulation? I am also trying to lose weight, at least 40 lb. Normally, I don't ever gain or lose, I just stay the same. I am not a big dieter, but that's just because I eat well already, and drink lots of water. So, I am just trying to exercise more. I know that losing weight will help me to conceive, I just wonder if there's anything else out there that could give my eggs a boost. Does anyone know of anything? Thanks for reading!!

Hey there! I've been ttc for 10 years with PCOS and have found that Vitex works well. Although it may not work for everyone, it did help me. I took 1000mg per day throughout the whole month and after a month and a half of taking it I ovulated after not ovulating in about 8 months. It may have been coincidence, but who knows. Being that it's only $11 and available at GNC it's worth a try. Here is a link that tells you how Vitex works to restore ovulation (It's under the heading "Using Vitex for Reproductive Health"): Howstuffworks "Home Remedies for Reproductive Health"

There are other natural remedies as well, such as:
Cinnamon
Fish oil
Dong Quai (also available at GNC)

HTH, and good luck and baby dust!

Thanks so much for your info, Stefanie! I will definitely look into the Vitex!
