Icon7 hello and a question.

This is my 2nd time on the TTC road. The first time took me two years and I concieved my sweetheart of a son. Now that he is nearing two we have decided to try for one more. The last time I took metformen and clomid, and had all the oh so personal tests done. Im hoping to avoid those tests this time.

Once I told my doctor that we were ready to try again he put me on 500 metformen, twice a day, and 100 clomid, days 5 through 9. Im hoping it works quicker. Here is my question, Im on cycle day 18 and the waking temp just went up, hopefully indicating ovulation, however Im still having tremendous pain where my right ovary is. It was there all day yesterday and I thought it was simple ovulation. (Clomid made O'ing rather sharp after the first three months I was on it last time around. ) However the pain is still here today. Im wondering if this pain is anything to be concerned about or maybe Im just sore from bedding more then usual. It literally feels like its burning and gets worse each time I move get up or sit down. Any ideas?

Windy

Hi Windy,

I have heard that the burning sensation is totally a Clomid reaction and think it is even more apparent on higher dosages (more than 50mg). I will be starting my second round of Clomid, this time 100mg, and have wondered if I will feel this too.

HTH
Strength and good karma.

Thanks for responding. That would make good sense. Last time I was only on 50, not 100, so you must be right. I hope things go well for you. The pain is nearly gone today so Im guessing it must have been from ovulation. My darn temp went down though so I am a tad concerned that the egg didnt get through the cysts. I will find out soon enough.

I didn't have any pains when ovulating, so I'm not exactly sure how it would feel so I'm not going to be much help. I would say that if the pain continues through tomorrow that you may want to call your doctor and let them know what kind of pain you are having and that you are a little concerned because you aren't sure exactly what it could be.

I hope the pain goes away and everything is ok....good luck this cycle
