I did four cycles of clomid and have no luck, I went to a RE and was told I had to do injectables $$$$

....so I got a second opinion. I had gone to a normal endocrnoligist just for the heck of it. she found that my Androstenedione levels were high. Having these levels high prohibits me from ovulating correctly. The most interesing part was that I would have not response to clomid or injectables until these levels come down. There is such a thing as clomid resistant women. If you do not have any follicles after clomid...which is potent and the side effects are terrible, you might be clomid resistant. The GOOD news is that it is easy to treat. My new doctor was very relaxed and hopful that a treatment of Dexamethasone(a steriod) .5mg 1 day lowers the Androstenedione levels enough for you ovaries to get back on track without all those harsh chemicals!!!! I have only been on the dex for a week so I cannot say it works, my Dr. said I have a 90% chance of at least ovulating again normaly! That would be a success. Try checking into that before you go through with all the injectables, sometimes RE can be very aggresive...good luck I hope this helps. I had gone to three doctors none of them wanted to look into it. Until this one!
Good luck everyone! Yes I am a PCOS lady!!!
