I did injectibles for one cycle before IVF. I was on 1500mg of gluc and did 75 units of Gonal-f for 9-10 days. My previous RE was very conservative and I only produce 1 follie, I think... 2 at the most. Argghhhh! I spent all that money for what clomid did for me most times.

IVF was a different story and I had about 15 follies on each ovary. However, I was talking a heck of a lot more meds. I started with 300 units for 2 days and then 200 units for a few days and then decreased. I did this both ivf cycles. This would be considered irresponsible for just an injectible cycle. A very conservative RE may have cancelled the ivf cycle even. However, the goal is to produce many more than on just injectibles.

In June, I needed a test so I did a clomid/follistim combo. I misunderstood the directions and alternated clomid and follistim instead of doing 5 days of clomid and then follistim until I was ready to trigger. This produced 5 mature follies. This time I was on 2000 mg of gluc and actos (forget dose). I was really shocked at my response because looking at my numbers from clomid alone and follistim alone my body really produced this time. I'm that the Actos made the difference!

I'm not sure exactly what you were looking for, so let me know if you have any other questions. HTH

I have mild PCOS (one diagnostic u/s showed small ring, another diagnostic u/s a year later showed none, so...)
I was put on follistim (I don't remember dosages) along with glucophage and baby aspirin in 2003 and that cycle produced my dd. A year later we used the identical protocol and that cycle produced my next dd.
As I've said before: I follistim.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Follistim, glucophage, baby aspirin and Projesterone was the magic combination for me!

I my case the Aspirin was for a High Anticardiolipine IgM (Blood clotting issue). However my understanding from my RE was that this is very common in women with PCOS. History of miscarriage is the first clue. once I had a BFP, I was also placed on heparin to further eliminate any chance of clot in the placenta. I suggest anyone with PCOS history of miscarriage or not to be tested, it is very common and can cause many miscarriages.
