Shawn Ann:

If I am following correctly, it sounds like you got pregnant with Metformin. Will you share with me getting pregnant and what you did up to that point? I have been taking Metformin about 3 months now. I am wishing to get preg. on our own without any help. Just curious.

jsaygirl,

I took metformin for about 3 months with no success, but once I started the combination of metformin and clomid I started having regular cycles and ovulating. It took four cycles before I got pregnant, but we did everything the old fashion way, other than that I took the meds.

Some women respond to clomid alone, some to metformin alone, but for me it took the combination.

Each month I was temping to try and see when ovulation was occuring. I was also on a strick schedule of every other day from the time was gone until ovulation was confirmed by a progesterone test. Each week I had to have a progesterone test and once a month I was I had a beta test - usually right around the time should have shown based on when we could figure out when I ovulated. The only other thing I did was take my prenatals and during the last cycle I started propping my butt up on a pillow for about 30 minutes...not sure if that helped any or if we just had good timing that cycle.

Hope that helps and if you have any other questions just let me know.
