I've done 6 cy of clomid, 50mg x3 and 100mg x3, but my DRs have said that even though I get af on my own during those cy and my chart showed O, my P4 was never high enough to show O.

I've now been dx as having PCOS and will be starting metformin in Feb. Has anyone sucessfully O'd on Met alone when they havent O'd on clomid?

any stories much appreciated, I'm feeling very downhearted

I Oed once on just Metformin and that was my first month on it and then nothing until they put me on a Metformin Clomid mix which is what I am doing this cycle. I am not sure if that helps at all. COuld you do a combination of the two I know that has worked for a couple of the woman on here?

I had no luck with either clomid or metformin alone, it was only when I took them together that I O'd and had normal cycles. Good luck and keep us posted.

Clomid and Met together might be an option, but I'm pretty sure my RE will want to do 6 cy of Met alone... Oh well

Never know what to expect with this PCOS crap, huh? Well, I think I'm completely screwed up but in the beginning, Met worked wonders for me...

We started TTC in March of 2001. I took 7 back to back cycles of clomid (all at varying dosages). Out of those 7 cycles, I Oed only 3 times (once at 50, 150 and 200). on the 200mg, I conceived but had a m/c at 8 weeks. I hadn't started met yet.

In Jan of 2003, I started met and ovulated within 5 days of beginning the drug (I never O on my own). I continued to have 3 'natural' cycles (just on met) but no pregnancy. I took only one cycle of clomid with the met (50mg) and conceived my son Jack. The met initially worked very, very well for me and I've heard many miraculous stories with it. Try to keep the faith!!

I have PCOS and am not IR. I tried clomid 50, 100 and 150mg and nothing. I moved on to injectibles and got pg right away.

I meant to add that I never ovulated on clomid or ever for that matter.

ditto to Bella'sMommy. I only ovulated and got pregnant with injectibles. In fatc, I got pregnant the first month of the injectibles.

I never o'ed on my own with gluc/met, And i had 3 out of 6 clomid cycles I didnt O. But Femara/Gluc did the trick for me.
