Hi girls!! It has been awhile since I have been on. I was in the hospital on May 25 and 26th for preterm labor that the dr stopped so the steroid shots had time to do their work. I went to the drs on tuesday and he said my cervix was ripe and ready to go. All day and evening I was having sporadic ctrxs with back pain and cramps but I didn't think much of it cause that seemed to be my life. I went to bingo and on the way home, my water broke. I thought I might have pee'd a little but when I got out of the car it gushed. My MIL had Jaylen and so we got her and myself ready for the hospital and I called my hubby from his evening fishing with the guys. I was 4cm and 75% effaced when I got to the hospital and apparently the nurse thought I seemed "dry" so the dr took me back to another room to do a speculum exam. As soon as he opened me up he said Oh yeah, her water broke and now she is sitting in a puddle. Since I wasn't having regular ctrxs I was given some pill to start them along. This was at about 11:00pm. Had my iv antibiotics going for GBS+ and was just waiting. My MIL got Jaylen to sleep in her buggy where she stayed soundly til Kaydence cried her first cry. About 2 hrs later I was having ctrxs every 2 to 3 mins that were pretty easy to get through. When I was at 5-6 cm the pain started and I was really having to breath thru them. I had a shot of stadol which turned out to be a bad idea since it made me very sleepy and didn't touch the pain. It finally wore off and I was on the ball trying to make it thru the ctrxs that were very intense. Then the nurse comes in with pitocin and I nearly started crying. I had to get back in bed and on the monitor. I was at 7 cm at this point and thought things were going smoothly but I guess they wanted it to speed up. I think I had the pitocin for 10 min when the pain became so unbearable that I sobbing with each ctrx which were double peaking and mostly going from one to the next with no break in between. I wanted pain relief so the nurse came back with another shot of stadol and I said oh no I want "real" pain relief. I couldn't get the intratheacal til a full bag of fluid went into me and I was begging and sobbing for it so the dr came in to prep me for it. I had such an intense ctrx that I could not move. He said you have to sit up to get this pain relief and so the nurse and Larry and my MIL and Mom were trying to sit me up and the pain would not go away. There was this incredible burning feeling around my cervix and they no sooner had me sitting when I said I had to push. The dr said get her on her back and I was already pushing. Half sitting and half laying they got me moved and they all said I can see her head. I could not quit pushing. The feeling was so strong. The dr was telling me to slow down, Larry was nearly sobbing and my Mom and MIL were cheering me on. After about 7 min of pushing out she came at 5:40 am screaming and pink as can be. Her apgars were 9 and 10 and she weighed 5 lbs 1 oz and 17 1/2 " long. Perfect she is!!!! They had no time to prep for the delivery. It was just my dr and one nurse. It was kind of comical since I went from 7 cm to delivery in less than a half hour. Around 8:30 am the dr came back to check on me and I askedhim when he can fix me. He took my drink and said they would be there to get me around noon. So 7 hrs after giving birth I was in the or making sure it never happens again. I am healing well but exhausted. Jaylen is a bit cranky. She loves to give Kaydence kisses. Larry is off work for a month and he has been a tremendous help. Jaylen is Daddy's girl soooo bad. Here are some pics.
