Slow Cooked Apple Pie
8 granny smith apples (or your choice), cored, peeled & sliced
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 1/2 C biscuit baking mix, divided
3/4 C milk
2 Tbsp butter, softened
3/4 C sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp vanilla
1/3 C brown sugar, packed
3 Tbsp butter, chilled
Toss apples slices with spices in large bowl; place in a greased slow cooker. Combine 1/2 C baking mix, milk, butter, sugar, eggs & vanilla; mix & spoon over apples.
Combine remaining baking mix with brown sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apple mixture.
Cover & cook on low setting for 6 to 7 hours, until apples are tender. Makes 6 servings. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
