Icon7 Chicken and Shrimp Casserole

for those who like the combination!

Ingredients:

1 1/4 cups raw converted rice
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 1/2 cups chicken broth
4 cups cooked chicken, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 lb button mushrooms, sliced
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 lb shelled and deveined shrimp
8 green onions,
1/2 cup slivered almonds


Directions:
*Mix rice and melted butter in the slow cooker, stir to coat the rice thoroughly.

*Add all of the remaining ingredients, except the slivered almonds and green onions.

*Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 2 to 3 hours.

*Sprinkle the almonds and green onions over the top before serving.

this sounds great!
does the shrimp cook ok? I would think it would get soggy?

When I made this, the shrimp came out good, I wasn't sure how'd they would turn out, but I thought they were good.

Another option, it just came to me....

maybe you can add 'cooked' shrimp the last hour or so, that way they just warm with the rest of the ingredients. Just another option
