My husband calls me asking how much for a telephoto lens. I said any where between 500 to 1000 or more. Then he said, never mind.
I have no idea why he wants a telephoto lens but if he wants to buy one then hurray for me.

So, any idea if I can find something cheaper that is any good? I prefer to stick with Canon lenses but OUCH are they expensive. But I don't want to buy a Tamron and risk getting a 'soft' lens.

Also, what exactly is considered telephoto? 85mm is telephoto IMO and then what would come next, 100mm?

Any good zoom telephoto lens that aren't equivalent to a kit lens?
