Default Shot my first newborn and first stranger!

This board has totally died! We need to get it going again. Come out come out wherever you are!!

I shot my first newborn which was my first stranger session. I was so nervous! (I'm PB'ing so this was free)

I was really disappointed the baby would.not.sleep. She was just over 14 days, disappointing but watcha gonna do, so she was pretty alert unfortunately. I felt completely flustered and unprepared. The older daughter, 3 yrs old, somehow got a sliver and Idk if it was from my bamboo rug or what and that really threw me even though the parents were very kind about it.

The house was a dungeon when it came to lighting. I had to set up in their laundry room using a door that I opened for light. It was so cramped in there my rug didn't even fit the way I like it and I had to have vertical instead of horizontal lines. Turns out, I still got flat light. Gah!

When driving home I thought of about 500 things I *should* have done ... but it was a good learning experience. I didn't even think to do any swaddled shots while we were waiting for the baby to settle. I think b/c she needed her paci a lot so there wasn't much I could do anyway, I just dismissed the idea. But I wish I had regrouped when things didn't go as planned and did some of the lifestyle shots that I love, that I so desperately want to learn so I can take my style that direction, and I just froze. UGH! So instead I only have this one set up with the baby, which is disappointing. Chalking it up to a good first time out so hopefully I'll do better at my second newborn that I have coming up in a couple of weeks.

Even though this was my first newborn and my first stranger session, please do not be gentle. Please be give me harsh cc, I want to do better at my next newborn TOMORROW (EEeee!). Thanks everyone!!

All shot with my 24-70 at 2.8, ISO 1000, SS varied
