This is a discussion on o/t... Ava had an audition for Gymboree within the Photography - Snap Happy Mamas forums, part of the Photography category; She was not her normal photogenic self, she didn't even want to look at the camera for the test ...
She was not her normal photogenic self, she didn't even want to look at the camera for the test shots. The photographer was not doing anything to get her attention either- I suppose that they are looking for children who are naturals, not ones who need coaxing. I almost asked him if I could get behind the camera . I tried every trick I know, but she still would not smile. Oh well.... maybe they are looking for pouty lips. We'll see. I doubt that we'll get a call back, but it was fun just to be picked for the audition in the first place.
OMG how exciting!!! The children in the Gymboree adverts/website are not always smiling or even necessarily looking at the camera ( often they are looking just off camera). She's just such a gorgeous little girl...I wish you the best of luck!

No call back, so I assume she did not get chosen... oh well!
Shannon-
A client of mine has her twins with the agency I signed Ava with. I decided, what the heck.. and sent both the girls' pics to the agency, they did not take Madeline, but signed Ava. She'd only had two auditions- I don't think that he agnet pushes for her much. I have considered switching agencies, but I am really too busy to have too many auditions- so we'll probably just stay put for now.
If you want to get invloved, I'd just google talent agencies in your area- look for one that specializes in babies or children. Reputable agencies will never ask for money up front, but take a cut of whatever the child earns, so only sign her up with an agency that does not have a signing fee.
My son had an audition for Gymboree too. He gave from what he demonstrated a fake silly smile too. Oh well. As far as callbacks, the audition was only Thursday. Call back notices often come 2 days later so give it until Monday before you say no call backs. Maybe you got lucky! Good luck!
