Default New website!

Hi girls! After a ton of work I finally renamed my business and made a new website! Can you please look at it and let me know what you think! Let me know if I have any spelling errors or what not. Also does my pricing seem ok? Especially my wedding packages? I feel as though I don't charge very much but I don't know where to start when it comes to wedding pricing and I don't know if I "should" charge very much. What do you think? I'd appreciate any feed back! Thanks so much! and here's my website Turtle Dove Photography

I'm so clueless about pricing, but it looks like a well designed site

I really like the layout too.

I think I would reduce the number of images in the wedding gallery. I'd pick your 20-30 best and show those....and try to "scatter" the people a bit. Like put bride 1, then bride 2, bride 3, back to bride 1 so the same person isnt popping up all in a row.

Pricing is very low...which I did the same thing in the beginning too....but you really do attract the wrong type of client....you attract the bargain hunter who is going to try to suck everything they can.....you end up working for free or even eating money yourself. I like the idea of setting regular prices in the beginning and then giving a discount off those prices while you are learning/pb'ing. Then they know what to expect price wise when you are no longer pb'ing. JMO!

Thanks Des! I wasn't sure on how many pictures to show. I have so many its hard to decide. I guess over a 100 is a bit excessive lol. I'll have to go back in and cut back

CONGRATULATIONS on the site! It's a great start! However, IMO, your prices are too low! Your prices are currently lower than many portrait studios... Des is right- you are going to attract the wrong type of client this way. I would increase your prices- and advertise those, but then offer a PB discount until you get your business going. Also, you offer a CD of all of the proofs from a session- the price on that is too low. If you only charge $160 (I can't remember the exact price)... then no one will ever put in an order higher that- they will just buy the CD and then go to Walmart, where you have no control over the print quality. I do not sell CDs, I ocassionally will sell a single proof to be used on cards, etc. but that is only after they have bought a large print of that image.

I've only done one solo wedding, so I cannot offer much in the way of help as far as pricing goes, but here's my two cents- a wedding is a HUGE amount of work to not get much in the way of return on prints! I would not include a CD of reproducible images on your lowest package- if you want to offer something, offer a proof book- make them buy the prints through you.

A little CC on the site itself. For me, the copyright line is obstructed by the frame on the home page. Also, the word "photography" after Turtle Dove is a bit fuzzy for me- you might want to try resizing it and loading it again. IMO EVERYTHING on the site should be sharp- from the pics to the logo.

I would also only use one picture from a session in your galleries (unless it's a collage or something like that). You do not need to overfill your galleries, just pick the best of the best.

I hope that helps.

WOW! Thanks so much for all of the insight I really appreciate it!!!

I know about the photography looking pixelated I am trying to figure out how to fix it Im not sure why it is doing that!

ok as far as pricing, my main concern is I haven't been in business very long. With the pictures that I have in my wedding portfolio do you think i am "good" enough to charge more than I do? I know they say we are our biggest critics but What do YOU think? As far as portfolio building how many weddings do I need for a sufficient portfolio?

I love the music for it. I think it's a nice website. When I got married 12 years ago my photographer was more expensive then that so I think you could definitely up your prices.
