Hi, all!

Long-time lurker, one-time poster, and back again with new equipment and lots of learning to do. A little about me - two little ones, work full-time, and am here hoping to learn enough to take decent shots of my kids and have fun with my camera!

I just got the XSi and went ahead and got the kit lens since it got decent reviews with the IS (it's a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6) and also the 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 zoom lens since it was $55 after the Canon summer instant rebate. I'm hoping to get the 55 mm f/1.8 soon, but it's on backorder at amazon, so I figured I'd start with these two and see where they take me. I also have PS CS3, and I've played around with some editing here and there. All in all, I'm very dangerous with all this equipment - in most cases, I know what to do but not how to do it properly!

My BFF has a Canon 40D and she convinced me to start a Project 365 with her. She's ahead of me since I just got my camera, but I'm committed to taking and posting pics for the next year, hoping that will help me to stay with this and improve!

I'll share a few of my first shots below. I'm excited to be here (once again), and I hope to learn lots from all of you and contribute to this fabulous community!
